My dad's old car. To cut a long story short, this car was sitting in the corner of the drive looking sorry for itself not being used, i said i'll take it to save him the bother of selling it as he was going to give me some cash anyway.

2003 BMW 318ci M Sport

New: £25k (no options added)
Paid: £10k in Mid 2008
RRP now: £8.9k

You wont get £9k for a 2003 318 now I dont think. Chap on another forum has been trying to get rid of a 2003 325 and the best offer was £8k :(

I didn't dodge it, I just didnt notice it. I've no idea how much its worth really, probably about 4 grand? Hard to value it really as there is virtually nil demand for it, but it's in considerably better condition than most for that sort of money.

Irrelevent though as it's not being sold any time soon, and when it does go, whether its worth 2k or 3k in tradein won't be important.

I looked at a few 530i sports and anything below £5k was dodgy (shedloads of owners or no sh). Wish i had held out for a 530i SE though :(

I guess so, If I were to sell privately right now I reckon I could get around 8k (approved used non sport models seem to go for 8.4k at BMW) based on condition and mileage.

It seems that the bigger engines are the ones being hurt more by the price drops than the smaller engine ones (and I’m seeing an increasing number of 118 models on the roads round here too!)

The estimate in my post above was based on Parker’s used price for a 50k mileage car with standard options from an approved garage.
