Goodbye City-Link, hello DHL

I'm gonna miss my City Link dude :/ He was a good guy. Never had problems with city link itself either.

But re-delivery on same day = win.

Never had a problem with City Link, they were always top notch in my area and the nearest DHL depot is a mission away (City Link was walking distance) if anything does go wrong :(

The DHL Home Delivery Service is a dedicated residential service that delivers between 7am and 9pm Monday to Friday and on Saturday mornings before noon.
Quick question, if i may...

What exactly is meant by "dedicated residential service"? What about non-residential customers? Or getting something delivered to a non-residential address?

Glad to see deliveries until 9pm - that's certainly welcome.

A shame that the cut-off point is 16:30 however, as that is early, imo, and your major competitors offer much later cut-off points (including one company that offers a 19:00 cut-off point even for next day deliveries).

I have had good service from DHL, was out when the girl tried to deliver, phoned her up and she was back round a few hours later. :D

Unfortunately that will happen no matter the courier. I had a Citylink delivery missed (even though I was in) and they said I had to come and collect it from Heston (West London) when I live about 5 junctions down the M4 away.

Good move though, the mobile phone thing sounds ace.

I'm glad I live close enough to collect from the shop. Cheaper too.

Took some time for the change given the number of threads complaining about City Link.

Oooh. I'd also like to know this, I always get OcUK stuff sent to my work.

Can you tell them not to bother if its after 5pm?

Edit: Actually nevermind the time thing, just noticed that theres a before noon option available for an extra quid or two.

Residential service delivers in residential areas only and until 9pm. You get people used to delivering to homes not businesses so it generally makes for a better experience.

Business customers get the B2B service which is people used to delivering to businesses up to 5.30pm.

Awesome!

City Link round this way are rubbish (and them being the only courier option at a competitor were the reason I switched to OcUK years back!), and DHL are always great :D

Rather handy as I'm going to be ordering in the next 2 weeks....... £2,287.54 inc VAT coming your way Spie!

Champion!! DHL around here is cool. O2 use them. I got carded when my phone came rang the number a girl answers says i can either come get the package from her that night or she can deliver it in the morning. This was at like 5:30. So 5 min drive later abit crack on with the good looking female driver and i have my phone :D

Good move imo

Does that mean people cannot get stuff delivered to work? All my stuff come to work as nobody is at home. Doesn't affect my OCUK purchases as I collect but it could be an issue for some...
