Call of Duty: World at War

Yeah everyone seems to find them different. A mate of mine did them all on Vet a breeze. Cod 4 with very few issues or re-trys. Yet he's given up on Vet on this after a day of trying to do the Sniper level.

There's a hell of a lot of luck involved in vet. Even when I did that sniper level it was a lucky leg it.

This is my fav COD yet though in campaign.

Was playing a couple of hours online today, Team Deathmatch. I'm enjoying the maps, makes a nice change from Bog, District e.t.c. :)

i'm enjoying the campaign a lot more than i did number 4. The levels are well layed out also and i love the screaming voices of the japs after setting them on fire. Cant wait to try mp next millenium :D

Campaign is a bit wierd, the flow of it is not close to CoD4, shame, even CoD 1&2 had a better feel for campaign. Its not bad, but its not great, Treyarch!!

Oh well, online multiplayer and graphics are nice, shame about the sprint method being the best tactic

Whats the sprint method?

Got the game today, prefer it to COD4 already but maybe thats just the newness factor :D Although I think the tanks are a bad decision by the developers. Maybe I'll come round to them once I've played it a bit more.

I'm really enjoying this MP. Shame they never fixed the host issues online with the game ending and whatnot, that really pee'd me off how they didn't sort that from COD4.

Yep, I really don't know why It can't be passed to another player?! It seems to been happening every other game now

its just a bit arcadey in how everyone literally sprints around non-stop around the map and throw blind grenades.

if you try to be tactical and slower you just get killed by people running around like its the olympics, really unrealistic

You been in the war have you? :p

Been sessioning multiplayer online today. Wasnt too impressed at first but its deffo grown on me now. Not as well executed as COD4 imo but there are some nice touches, like the assist kill scoring system and the tanks actually work quite well as theyre not at major advantage. I found the graphics to be quite shocking in places though tbh, anyone else found this? I havent tried the 360 or PC version yet but some parts of the online maps on the PS3 (downfall mainly iirc) looked shocking (basically PS2 style). I havent tried single player yet.

Anyone tried the zombie mode yet? Really curious about it, as if its good might just get this instead of L4D, cause it will mean more variety for my money.

Which bit were you stuck on for 9 hours then matey? I'm playing through it on normal first which I always do so I know where I'm going for veteran :p

I don't think it was 9 hours :p but getting into the Reichstag was the worst bit of the game for me. But, once you figure out where to hide and when and what triggers your squad mates to move up it's not quite so bad. Still, I'm glad I got that out of the way, I found 4 far easier than this game.

Why do the different COD games have different developers?

I think it's just to maximise revenue, so in other words for each of the last 4 years they have had a COD title out at Xmas time (alternating between the main and contracted developer). This means that the development cycles for each title are much more appropriate, than just refining a year old game each time.
