***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

heres a quick one...

now that we have the demo - when the full game is released will we just be able to put our steam activation code in and it unlock everything?

preordered a DVD rather than via steam so im not sure how it works

No I think you have to pre-load the game all over again, the pre-load was released yesterday or the day before, not sure if it makes use of the demo files.

I've looked around but I can only find the version for tf2 which is mat_motion_blur_enabled "0"

The same command does not work in l4d.

Also you can search commands by using Find "motion" or Find "blur" etc. but I cant find anything relevant.

It can be removed by lowering one of the settings but then the whole game looks pretty rubbish.

Activate with key, then use the disk to install the files into steam
 
Managed to get online for the 1st time today with friends.

Found a witch sitting at *** entrance to train we needed to get through. I talked the team into settings up positions so we could all fire at the witch, then started the 3-2-1 count. Smoker grabs one of the team from the top of the train, at that point the witch stands up a little bit and I panic, firing and alerting her without the others firing becuase Im at 2 in the count. She runs over kills me, then the other guy dies ontop of the train.

Amazing stuff. Also managed to throw a pipebomb up an escalator, only to have it bounce down and kill 2 guys.

Stunning !
 
The smokers really do get you by surprise and ruin what ever game plan you have going at the time. Its things like that, that really add tension to the game.
 
Just completed again on expert with a few OcUK lads. Hasn't got boring yet and i must have played it a good few hours now. Cannot wait for the full release.

I believe a headshot to the witch is the way to get rid of her...or best thing is to let her kill the person who startled her then get out of her way when she runs off. :D We also managed to take down a Tank with only one death, a great feeling.

still not been able to play for more than 15min before my pc crashing! absolutley love it though! upped volts on my ram to see if that helps.

when the full game comes out does that mean you no longer can play the demo??!!
