FUMING @ Morrisons.... What the hell is this all about?

Lots of people on tills are really quite anal about this policy. The policy is to ask for ID if anyone in a group of people looks under age, but you are meant to use your common sense and if there is an obvious child with and obvious adult you ignore it.

You are 20. You were with a kid. It's their policy. If it annoys you, shop elsewhere.

There are LOTS of cases where dodgy rudeboys hang around with their cousins of all ages and buy them alcohol etc etc. This is where you were asked.

If you were 40 you'd not have been asked.

Stop moaning.

WRONG! Just spoke to my uncle about it, and hes from Scotland, he said they did it too him aswell up there, and im ranting at the idiotic behaviour and lack of respect for a 20 year old. Discrimination!

I am sorry FOX, you can say that now, but i bet you won't just walk away from it without being slight bit annoyed if that happened to you.

So you arn't allowed to buy alcohol if you have a child with you? LOL

you should have pointed out the other 100 people in the store with kids.

On a semi related note I got refused Rizla rolling papers from the Spar for not having ID. I am 23 and easily look 21 but apparently I must look 25.

I gave the guy a right load of abuse, he was almost crying when I left. Muahaha. Left all my stuff on the counter also when there was a massive queue and am now boycotting the spar. My loss probably but meh.

Ive been knocked back for them aswell.

He did, and I for one enjoyed reading his moan. Some of the policies at supermarkets are a bit extreme i.e. Asda refusing to sell kitchen scissors to under 21s.

Sounds like just a dumb a$$ assistant, I bought beer the other day when I had my 3 year old with me and I didn't get ID'd.

Although having said this I did get ID'd a few weeks back when I had my missus with me and my 3 yeard old and 9 month old with me doing our weekly shop, made me chuckle.

My local Morrisons did however ban the sale of flour and eggs to under 16's during bonfire night and halloween in partnership with the local police farce, that really made me chuckle when I read it.

Its annoying but its their policy. It's that simple. I can't buy any alcoholic products without getting ID'd and I'm 24, thats annoying as well but its pointless making a scene because they are a private company and its entirely their choice who they sell things to.

I can therefore either put up or shop elsewhere.

Why didnt the manager who was stood behind watching us say to me whilst i was in the queue for 5 mins say "excuse me sir, you will need I.D for that child aswell if your purchasing alcohol"

I thought there was a rule or something that people under the drinking age cannot sell alcohol?

Just in the video game store i work in, staff under 18 can't sell 18 games, they need to get someone else to do it for them. Not the same thing i know, but i thought it was a general rule?

There is a reason YOU get IDed. ;)
