Well the all time goosebump song has got to be ...

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

If I found a time machine, this gig would be one of the first places I would travel to..... I don't know how many times I've watched this video. I wish I was there.

Somewhere over the Rainbow - Eva Cassidy
You are my Sunshine - VA (My mum used to sing it to us as a lullaby when we kids, we had it played at her funeral) :(

Wow I've never heard so many gems! There's so many amazing songs I seem to have missed out on thanks guys!

Two more..

This one mainly because of the memories.

Greek summers afternoon, starting to cool down to that nice evening sort of temperature, still lying around in shorts with the wooden shutter doors leading to the balcony overlooking the sea in the distance. Nice cool breeze, not too cold though, thinking of where to eat out in the evening.

+ that song to the equation and it brings back that memory.

The other song would be seeing one of my fav bands for the first time, Muse at Wembley.

It's beautiful, what a lovely song to remember her by. As is Eva Cassidy, her music touches me.

If you do find a time machine, will you please give me a shout because I would give anything to see it. I wish I was there too.

Has anybody seen 'Dancer in the dark' - its a film staring Bjørk. It literally the most harrowing film I have ever seen, actually brought a tear to my eye at the end. This track from the soundtrack gives me goosebumps on top of goosebumps every time.
'New World' by Bjørk

You will recognize this orchestral arrangement from the above video. It is also part of the soundtrack to Dancer in the dark...
'Overture' by Bjørk

Porcupine tree - Smart kid and Trains.

In my opinion Steve Wilson is in the top 3 in writing music, also, Drapery falls by Opeth, In fact, there is way too much to mention, Subterranean Homesick Alien by Radiohead, Everything in its right place.... srsly guys.... loads. Motorcycle Emptiness - MSP.

And thats where I stop. Otherwise I will be typing all night.

One more, sorry two more, Ozric Tentacles - Afroclunk and Prince - Rasberry Beret.

Thanks for reading this train of thought.

*edit* also a big, BIG, nod for, For the love of god and whispering a prayer by Vai.

Especially from 3:08 when Luther does that thing. :D

also one of the best live performances I've seen... someone should start a thread. (about best live performances)

I was 3 rows from the stage in London when he sang it as farewell, and then 3 rows from the stage many years later when he sang it as the first song for to welcome everyone back

Another song guaranteed to give me goosbumps of epic proportions every single time. Featured in greatest movies, best live concerts of my life...

Let's take a boat out, wait until darkness...

Also I forgot to mention, the few metallica songs that send shivers up my spine, Fade to black, Call of Ctulu, ...And justice for all, To live is to die, Orion, Welcome home (sanitarium) The memory remains, Outlaw torn, Mama said, Hero of the day, Low mans lyric (this especially.) Also the whole of S+M, I'm a sucker for bands that play with orchestra's

But then I must be a Metallica fanboy (excluding Lars)

As I said in previous post.. I cant... stop... typing, I'm not even mentioning, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Pink floyd.. ahhh.. I'm gonna shut up.

SOZ!! (that was ironical) - the soz that in case your particular sensor isn't working.

Apologies in advance if some of my picks aren't as highbrow as earlier efforts. :)

Moby - My Weakness. It manages to be both depressing and uplifting all at the same time, a combination which makes it really emotive for me.

Noisia - Block Control. When the bassline drops after that well-crafted buildup...

LTJ Bukem - Atlantis. It's just a magical song for me, I've always loved the direction he took drum and bass in.

Ramirez - Terapia. This was the first techno tune I'd ever heard and it still gets me even today.

oooh good thread!

linkin park - the little things give you away, and also krwlng.
green day - time of your life.
phil colins - in the air tonight :p
snow patrol - chocolate
The Cranberries - no need to argue
Jonny Cash - Hurt
guns and roses - November rain

This.

love them linkin park tracks and green day.

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Guardian Angel
