Weekend Footy 22nd-24th November *Spoilers*

Van Persie just scored a wonderful goal and it was disallowed.
Goalkeeper threw it up to kick and Van Persie took it off him and put it in the back of the net.
I honestly can't see what he did wrong and I hate Arsenal.

Oooh, penalty

I agree, personally if I was Wenger I'd play RVP on the right side and play Adebayor and Bendtner/Vela (when fit) now that your 2 right-sided players are out for and extended time.

I'd also be tempted to drop Denilson (who I do rate, but isn't playing well) in favour for young Jack and Fabregas (as above, when fit) in the middle - at the end of the day, he's not going to do any worse.

What does strike me about Arsenal, and I said this last season when the whole 'Gallas is an idiot' palava started is that on the pitch you don't have anyone you would class as a natural leader of men and you haven't had one since Gilberto was released.

With the tight purse strings at Asburton Grove I'd be putting a solid bid in for Bullard as a cheap DMC solution, if only temporary til the seasons close.

yup, bullard isn't remotely defensive minded, however he would be great on the right, cheap, and I love the guy even if he is a idiot with a dodgey barnet.

But again, Gallas as captain with Toure, 3 losses in the league last year, better than Man U, equal to Chelsea, not freaking bad. Gallas, bad? not on your life. He also scored crucial goals last year, and has done this year, maybe the problem isn't with a world class multiple title winning centre back who helped us to one of our best defensive seasons of the past 4 years, 2nd best in probably the last 8-9 years, maybe the problem is with the manager and the team selection, just maybe?

I agree with Drunkenmaster on the Man U game actually. It was the ultimate 'paper over the cracks' job.

Any other day Man U could quite easily have taken all 3 points.

If it's from a kick out then the toss up and kick are classed as one movement so therefore disallowed.

3-0 to Man City and they deserve it.

We tried to go blow for blow with a side far superior to ours and were fortunate that day we didn't concede a fair few more goals, though to be fair they were too.

personally I've never seen whats wrong with that, it used to be allowed, but like so many other things was arbitrarily called a foul in one game years ago(maybe that henry chance 5-6 years ago) and refs simply decided from then on you couldn't touch the ball from kicking it out, makes no sense once its left their hands tbh.

The confidence is gone, which was always going to be the big weakness for some of the younger players.

The players are still the players they were. You don't suddenly become **** overnight and they are a brilliant bunch of highly talented players.

Without the confidence though its going to be a struggle. It would be good to say that the older, more experienced players need to step to the fore and show their worth but there aren't many of those out there today.

Worse possible time for Gallasgate after last weeks result.

Back to basics next week. Desperately need Toure back and the likes of him and Silvestre need to pull things together.

Only + point was Djourou. Did the best he could.

The travelling Gooners were immense today. Great support at the end.

1649: Robin van Persie puts the ball in the net for Arsenal - but only after kicking it out of Joe Hart's hands. Desperate from the Gunners.

RvP upto his previous tricks (he got a red card for something similar a few weeks ago didnt he)?

edit - fair enough seen whats happened, hmmm strange call maybe by the ref

Toure's been back but hasn't been being played, 15-20minutes for no reason out of position , makes no sense at all. It really does seem like Wengers shafting players for some reason, and I suspect its those that speak out against him.

I still personally think Gallas was right to air our dirty laundry, something is wrong, VERY wrong at the club, and its getting worse, and hiding it, like Wenger has been has very clearly been making it worse and worse.
