One point I'd like to raise - Get the hell away from cities/population centres, seriously. It'd be a bit of a kick in the nuts to survive a killer virus only to die from diseases spawned on the rotting corpses of the victims.

Someone would end up with a B grade celeron once the Core i7's were gone and it would go downhill from there until everyone bar one person is dead.

A secondary, backup munitions / supply dump could come in handy. Say you had to for some reason evacuate your base and escape to somewhere. This backup could be a mile down the road for instance, allowing you to get clear of the immediate danger, and give literally a few minutes to stock up and get moving to another spot ( which will already have been decided upon)

Even if you assume the fatality of the virus is 99.5% we'd still have a population of 325,000, which still would mean we have more people that Iceland. Whilst you'd be all trying to shoot every one, I'd just go to work and wait for you to get arrested!

Simple. I'd just go and get some mates together, we'd find an aircraft carrier, learn to conrol it, then cruise the seas. More than enough food for the few of us, and we could fly places if we need too.

*Real life practical issues may not have been thought of.
