Hi all,

As it stands now , i no longer can update my PC as next year ill have a little sprog (kid) :D so ££ will be tight , i was wondering is it worth the move to console ? I already have a 360 (3 years ish) but ive never been online with it and mostly everyone at my work is online (on the 360)

Just want to hear from people that have moved from pc to console or people that play the console more than pc , what does console have to offer?

I moved from PC to PS3 just over a year ago and in terms of ££ it's much better as I know that I will not have to keep upgrading to play the latest games. Also with consoles these days you get many other features which traditionally your PC would have fullfilled. So whether its 360 or PS3 I would say if it's gaming or general multimedia functionality your looking for then you can't really go too far wrong with either. I still keep my PC as it's much easier to use it for internet and email but otherwise I do everything else through my console.

Hope that helps.

me

i moved on after years of bf2, 2142 and css. i must say there are parts of me that wanna go back to the pc experience but i think you will like the 360 just as much as pc if your on at the right time.

i still remember waking up at 9am on saturdays and playing css zombie mode non-stop

What do you mean right time?

Also at the moment , i spend more time at my gf's house away from the pc so i dont play it that much, and when i do i play L4D(Left4Dead) id say i get in about 24 hours a week play time on the pc , maybe less in some weeks.

Me and the mrs play the lego games (starwars etc) i've finished assassins creed for the 360 also, that was the last game i played (full) , She can't see the point of having it online as we havn't needed it before.

I have bought a couple of consoles but i cant see me moving to them, they just dont have enough lasting appeal for me and are a bit too restrictive.

Oh and it doesnt help that I hate controllers for anything other than driving games hah.

I've moved, but probably only temporarily, just like with the PS2. I give it a year before the graphics the PC kick out start being so much better that I can't resist its temptations any more and i start to game heavily on it again.

Shame tho, i do love the simplicity of consoles, but it's because of that simplicity that it falls behind.

I dont really do the moving from one thing to another thing. I just try and have everything.

I mean I couldnt play RTS on the consoles, So PC can never Die, Also certain games, Like Bethesda games, Need to be played on the PC inorder to benefit from the mod scenes.

Consoles are awesome also, and all other games are better on them. But like I said, I'm not going to fence off the PC.

If you own a half decent PC it would be silly to completely fence it off, i mean, it's still good innit? I still play the classics like TF2 and Sup Com on my PC, by move i mean the majority of my gaming is now done on my PS3 as opposed to this time last year when it was PC.

I moved to a PS3 earlier this year and quickly moved back to the PC for my gaming needs. The main reasons were just that too few console games actually cater for left handers (south paw) and I was just missing the power and depth of pc gaming. I play the odd game of Super Stardust but it's mainly the Blu Ray player these days.

Thanks for the comments so far, i understand that consoles will never beat pc's , hell my pc has given me hours on end of entertainment.

Ill aim a diffrent question at you lot now :D

I know that 360 costs £40 a year (is it worth it?)
Is it a must to be online with a console?

my sys:
Quad Core
2 gig ram
x1900 xtx
win xp

I moved about 18 months ago. I miss PC gaming, but it just isn't practical in my current situation.

I love my 360, and if I were able to play on my PC more I think I would probably have a setup so they were side by side, and the 360 would probably get played more.

If/when I get my PC setup in my current place I will definitely try and get back into the likes of COD/BF/CSS etc. It just seems quite anti-social when playing games on it, whereas on the 360, my GF can sit with me and do her own thing.

I really really REALLY miss my BF2/COD clanning days though, big time!

i will never go away from the pc !
how could you even think of something so cruel like that !
us pc people should stay as one and make the pc dream live on !
ban all console's !

Why do you have to "move"? You already have a 360 and a PC...it's not like you have to sell the PC in order to fund the 360 or anything...

Anyway, PC and Consoles is the only way for me, by far the best option.

The 360 is the first console I've owned, bought a year ago, after years of pc gaming, amiga gaming and a BBC B before that.

I've got to say that I love the 360 - it's a superb piece of kit for gaming and using as a media streamer. I moved to the 360 because i couldn't be bothered with the pc upgrade cycle anymore after spending thousands over the years keeping a cutting edge rig.

My pc hasn't been upgraded since it's Opteron + (heavily overclocked) 6800gt days and I doubt it'll get anymore attention until I get a serious change of heart. I still use the PC everyday for Internet use, videos and music but gaming on it is a thing of the past.

Having been so impressed with the 360 I'm far more likely to buy the 360s succesor straightaway rather than upgrade the pc.

Well my pc will be staying ay my house as ill be moving in with the gf next year before baby arrives, Also the 360 isnt online so i feel that im missing out...and ofc i dont have many games for the 360 either , as i use my pc, and sometimes the 360 doesn't get played for months - weeks at a time. & i dont have the funds to upgrade my pc anymore it took me over 2 years to upgrade last

The only gaming I do on my PC these days is a occasional blast from the past on BF2, I have tried many newer games but none of them seem to stick with me.

The 360 on the other hand is getting used most days at the moment. I enjoy playing through the single player games but the online aspect of it is fantastic - easy to use and everyone is using the same hardware. Highly reccommend Battlefield Bad Company, Cod4, Cod WAW for rooting tooting shooting fun!
