Speed drops on UKFSN

Starting to go down already today, think ill make my switch to Be now.

Only when you bring Be to my area :D

I remember you switched from AOL to UKFSN around the same time as me :p

My connection has been dropping a lot lately on UKFSN, but it never did last year. Although the noise margin is very low, which I'm told could be the cause of the problem but strange how I never got it last year.

I hope they improve again as Enta is the best ISP in my area at the moment I think.

They are getting to many customers now, was inevitable really, no port throttling, huge caps, no shaping, low prices etc... not surprised every man and his dog has jumped on, its why i did. :D

Maybe the 2x new centrals will help, but with no word on when those are going to be going live, its looking bleak, its only going to get worse when everyones watching EastEnders/Doctors/Spooks etc... from Thursday, pipes are already going below the 2mb as it is, and thats during the bloody day in peak times.

Just checked and they on their way down now, central 2's on 5.2mb and going down, 4's on 2.9 and going down, just got to wait for the rest to start now which no doubt they will, and its only quarter to 2 in the afternoon.

over at another forum entanet are not happy with the way BT have connected up the 2 new centrals and they are just waiting on the conections to be 100% before they go live.

I'm on Adsl24 (Entanet) and am receiving speeds of roughly 6100kbps down. Usually this is way over 7000. Not much difference, but still.

i`m on Aquiss noticed connection is up and down like a whores knickers this week :( ,was quite bad yesterday but seems slightly better atm.
God help us on thursday the whole infastructure will go into meltdown........... lol

Were in meltdown now lol, ive just checked the pipes as its like being on dial up here now, and the first 4 centrals are down to 1mb, ones black, central 5 is 7.2 but now going down as its gone black, central 6 is on 1.8mb and going down, i rekon if it gets any worse its just going to go off, were gona use it all up, theres going to be no bandwidth. :D

Terrible now, centrals 1-2-3-4-6 are all now 1mb, and tomorrow is when BBC1 and 2 start to stream live 24 hrs a day, not looking forward to it at all here, im actually expecting it to go off tonight, we'll get messages on saying bandwidth limit exceeded, well have every pipe on 0mb :D

Im off to Be, i was going to jump on them when they became available in my area, but seen as i was having no problems with these i thought id stay till it gets bad, well its now bad, so im off, as its even crippling during the day now, gona be worse tomorrow when Bargain Hunt, Cash In the Attic, Flog It, and Doctors etc... are all on. :(

You can't find out what central you are on now as they have made changes.

Changes to distribution of ADSL users

In order to address some of the issues seen recently with an imbalance on our Central Pipes, we are making improvements to the method of distributing users between LNS equipment. These changes will enable us to better balance the pipes through the day to day re-connections that take place, which in turn will lead to an improved customer experience for all users. One of the disadvantages of such as system however, is that it removes the ability for end users to be able to see which Central Pipe they are currently connected to, as specific LNS equipment cannot be tied to an individual central.

Whilst it has been a difficult decision to make, we have decided to make these changes as the loss of information would have happened on the switch to the upcoming IPStream Connect product, which is expected for Q1 of 2009. These changes have been introduced to a small number of devices and will continue to be rolled out in the coming days.

so i put opendns in and so far everything is not too bad (fingers crossed)
