My advice to avoid any issues is register early with rockstar social club now (took me less than 1 min) & also associate your Windows LIVE or X360 gamertag with it as well to avoid server delay issues. Also you need around 18GB of HD space which is the new record amount (must be on 2 x DVD9s so you also need a dual layer drive) This game will be one of the biggest PC releases this year and R* know this as they have been advertising it on TV all week which for a PC release nowadays is very unusual.
The actual gameplay will disappoint anyone who loved San Andreas as this has nowhere near as much content but the improved gfx and FPS will at least let PC players enjoy it more. There is only really 1 big city which is broken up into smaller islands and connected by bridges. The consoles really struggled to cope with this scale in places and the pop up was criminally bad in that respect.
I could not go back to it on PS3 once completed as the FPS issues & very blurry graphic filters used to hide the technical limitations actually hurt my eyes. PC should have none of this so I am looking forward to it again even though I know the story. Some of the radio stations in this one are genius and also very controversial (even for R*).
Listen out for a talk show host called Richard Bastion as he is very funny & worth the price of the game alone!!
Only thing I am unhappy about with the DRM is that you have to keep your DVD in the drive at all times.
