Morning guys!

Well, i'm snowed in :| fantastic rossendale council decided that the gritters didnt want to get cold, so none of the roads around here at all have been gritted and it's snowed overnight!

was presented with this scene when i got out the door at half seven:

The tracks only go a few hundred metres up the road where they all turn around and come back down lol. A few of my neighbours walked past as i cleared the car saying theyd had to abandon their (fwd) cars and they were only trying to get down the hill!

Managed to get off the dry bit of the drive and then DSC just laughed at me and said "not today mate". Turned that off and even in fifth gear my wheels were just spinning :/ Had to get a push back onto the drive.

Good 'ld blighty eh, bit of snow and it all comes to a halt!

So, anyone wanna swap for a few months a 330i for a 330Xi? :p

Tom.

i was out at 7 and it was pretty bad. Was crabbing down the street but the main roads were alright. Skidded right out of road by stoke station though very lucky nothing was there.

Or roads arte like that this morning. Think the Z4 will be staying in the drive today! Went over to Buxton last night with a mate and had a little fun in a car park over there, of course when the police turned up to check the car park we were taking photos :p

had a call from a mate and apparantly even the a627m (the main link between m62 and oldham) hasnt been gritted. Absolute mayhem around here. Council have got a lot to answer for today!

Its the council, they haven't gritted any of the bus routes here.

Totally useless.

I had an interesting drive this morning. After dropping the other half off I had the hairbrained idea that the back roads wouldn't be full of daudlers and idots who can't drive in the snow. I was right, nobody had hardly driven on them. 15mph driftin in an FF y0! Even an Evo X was having problems so I must have been doing well, although it was piloted by a woman.

Fun times, I like a challenge :D

except its blatantly obvious from the path of your tyres tread in the snow that you just slid that there. :P

"we've not been drifting, honest officer"

EDIT: i made it to work this morning, but what startled me was the way the idiots in rangerovers and stuff that think "i have 4wd, that makes this good in snow" were just pootling around as normal. - i saw a couple of them pulled over with some "normal" cars surveying dents as they've obviously just understeered straight into them.

Recall year before last the problems I had nursing the 330ci home in deep snow.

They really are absolutely crap in the snow. :(

:o He was a sound guy to be fair. After questioning me about who owned my car etc (probably because I look about 15) he just told us to be careful and not to be too stupid because he didn't fancy having to come out again if they got a call :)

no grit on the road i take into harrogate this morning, snaking down hill was an...experience to say the least (back end lost it at the corner at the peak of the hill, my fault, 1st real driving experience in ice/snow)

Get chains, thats what they do in countries where it really snows non of theis waiting for the council gritters rubbish.
