It depends on my mood:

When I'm alone so far I've always cleaned up.
With mates I mostly clean up and they also tell me if I don't.
But sometimes, I just can't be arsed when I'm leaving and I just leave it there.

After all, you can always rely on an academic environment to make you feel good about doing what you're told, or reading from a book.

What happened, did you fail your GCSE's or something or have you just been sucking too many lemons? This appears to be a thread about McDonalds not a thread for you to drain down about how much you hate students.

Never in a pub? I find myself doing it a fair bit, I'm heading up to the bar anyway so why not take a few glasses, it clears a bit of space and makes the job of the bar staff that little bit easier.

If it's a nice pub, especially if it's small or busy, I'll often take glasses up when I go to the bar. May as well, it helps them out. The point is that it's something nice you're doing for the friendly staff not something required of you.

But I was actually thinking of getting food in a pub more than drinks, anyway :)

I didnt mind either way when I worked at maccies. It was sauces smeared over the table that that was the issue regardless of the table litter. The car parks were disgraceful aswell with people simply tipping the trays out of their window. You would find a suprising amount of trays in the bins aswell.

totally leave it. though oddly if i eat at say somewhere like subway i tidy up after myself.

its a psychological issue with macdonalds. /me shrugs.

might get the kids to do it it though

Depends
Not McDs But we often work in a couple of stores here.
One charges €3 for 2 coffee's the other €5
We make a point of leaving the rubbish on the table at the expensive place.

The more people that tidy their table the less cleaning staff they need to employ. By cleaning up your table you are thus indirectly accountable for cleaners being made redundant and thus the increasing recession we find ourselves in.
