COD: Modern Warefare 2 confirmed??

I too am really happy that they aren't going in to the futuristic (ala Halo 3) setting! Anyone else, really disappointed with CoD:WaW? Just seems to be lacking that certain something that made CoD4 really good online.
 
I've had a great idea - basically you remember that level where your character gets blown up in the nuclear blast (or his helicopter does) and he stumbles around a bit before dying.
Maybe, he wakes up, and finds out he has mutated due to the radiation and he has 4 arms, the legs of a cricket, and rhino horns.
Modern warfare could see you as a mutated soldier fighting the Iraqis.
At first I was just joking, but I've managed to convince myself that this would be an awesome game. Imagine hoofing an Iraqi in the face with your horns and then jumping 300 foot in the air with your cricket legs.

According to 360fanboy its been announced - I'll get it definitely but I'm getting very sick of having to play veteran :p

@ Faded - I love WaW however I seem to like the opposite of everyone else :(
 
I wouldn't mind a COD in the future. They would just need to keep it gritty and (as much as possible) down to earth. It wouldn't need to be flakey like Halo - thats not a dig at Halo, but the game is quite light hearted. In my opinion.
 
They're dropping the numbering system then?

Glad to have the modern warfare theme stick as it works much better than CoD5 and allows more freedom with weapons and attachments etc.
 
Should be good, I wonder if the old maps will carry over (ala rock band) as there is some classics id still love to be playing next year.

Looks to me like they are moving the CoD series into two different brands.

The WW2 brand and the Modern Warfae brand.

not anymore tryanche (whatever the name) said that they will by splitting away from the cod franchise (after WAW) and work on their own game.

Personally Id say their dropping the numbering system because if it got called Cod 6 - people would realise how much the franchise is getting milked :p

Don't get me wrong, they're amazing games (including WaW). Maybe milked was too harsh - I just think calling it call of duty 6 would put people off, I cant quite say why but I know it would put me off. Probably because in the past, things that have gone on for a long time often deteriorate over time!

How isnt WaW cod5 kreee? Its the fifth game in the series?
 
A friend at Infinity Ward told me a few months ago that the chances are they won't be using the numbering system, he's under NDA, but I think they'll be dropping the numbering system ;)
