Which free program is the best for making movies?

Need to make a small presentation movie for my uni course, any suggestions appreciated!

Can you export on the free trial? I seem to remember something distinctively annoying about the trial but my minds gone blank. I might be getting confused with something else as well though

Windows Movie Maker for free, but Adobe Premier or Sony Vegas on trials
