Survivors

It's funny that we all arm ourselves in this situation - as though we all turn into murderers after a day without electricity, I can imagine us wiping ourselves out even further by meeting each other, seeing the weapon and shooting first.

There shouldn't be such fear and presure to gather all the countries resources for yourself, after all theres usually enough for 60 million people, with only 3000 people to supply. Chances are that evenly distributed you could never use it all and the things like fuel would waste before you could use a fraction of it.

Make sure I've got lots of toilet paper and fibre tablets.

I have IBS so I'll need the above two more than anything:D

But resources are currently determined by economic wealth.

Without this as a tool to distribute resources, it would become a violent panicked grab-fest. I can already feel the blood rising in me to make sure I hoard as many chips and bitches as possible!

Cheers for that.

Not knowing how many survivors there were would increase the feeling that you needed to get what you could but after say a month of meeting no one, I'd probably think, no rush, theres no one else to take anything.

This is very true, and shows how delicate our society is. We look down on countries in what we deem to be the third world, but our mindset is no different, and often worse.

If it happened whilst at work then my first objective would be to get to my wife. Once I've done that we'd need to find a way to get away from Central London. As Voltar mentioned further on up, Central London would be absolute pandemonium should anything like this happen.

Let the dust settle a bit and then see if we can find some like minded down to earth individuals - OCUK!!!! :)

Watched both ep 1&2 yesterday, its been good so far. Other than the slight nitpicks already pointed out :-)

Thoughts on ep 2 anyone?

I missed the 1st episode, but caught the 2nd and loved it:D I think at first it would be great, as i'm only 16 id be able to drive :D

I thought the ending of the 2nd was good, where they all meet at that food depot :)

Enjoying this as well ,if you llike this sort of thing read the stand by Stephen King same sort of thing but the survivors are drawn to the good and evil groups superb book

Watched the first episode it was alright and then the 2nd episode got half way and turned it off. After you have read The Stand its all a bit cheesy, and nowhere near as good.

Only watched the first episode... I'll watch 2 & 3. If it doesn't stand up to the original series I'll give up and hope they do a better job with 'Day of the Triffids'...

Anyone interested in this sort of apocalytic stuff should watch the documentary 'Life After People'...

Amazing how quickly everything we've built would disappear...

I watched that a while back, thoroughly enjoyed it actually :)

I'm liking this series so far, few cheesy bits, but hey.

It's a shame the virus didn't do something a tad more than it already did...rather than people just falling asleep and dying :p

But then it would turn into another sheepish zombie / rabies thing I guess.

Watched one and half episodes so far...

Not bad so far, but the level of some of the writing worries me a little. In particular the following three things I just can't see how any level headed writer would let sit on a page, and how any level headed director would put it to film:-
1) Ep1 - Virtually everyone keeling over on the same night?
2) Ep1 - Najid in the Mosque. A hundred people around him all die in kneeling position? And he just sits there while they moan and groan in to death?
3) Ep2 - Sp the group have been threatened for stealing food from shop by another group. So Abby goes back there to try and find out the location of someone the other group may have run into. She beeps her horn in order to attract them, and then steals food knowing full well (a) she's beeped and has tried to attract them, (b) she's been threated not to do it again. Surely no one is this cavalier with the though of being killed?

I'll give it a couple of episodes and hopefully these blips of writing are the exception.

It's interesting how in ep2 they've crammed two of the original episodes into one of the new ones...

Your problem with Ep2 can be solved by the fact Abby is a women.

LOL!

Myself and my other half both just looked at each other quizzically when straight after she beeped the horn - fair enough she want's to ask the gang a question - she then proceeds to take stuff from the shop. Just made NOOOO sense at all!

That was one of those scream at the telly stupic moments. Were the writers intentionally trying to make us wnat them all dead. Also the book shop, the other group came screaming up and pulled up directly outside the bookshop never checked any otehr shops for anything. Not looking like a patrol more a response.

I hope it inproves but i can't help this new re writing has just became to optimistic and been asaulted by the feel good PC brigade.

Tis very VERY lazy writing at times... Not sure how this stuff is getting not only thru scripting, but to film as well...

Anyway, let's hope it's just a few blips... But if they're willing to let this sort of stuff go, what else
