For a petrol engine as well, thought they were not that good in water?
So long as the water wasn't over the air intake and he kept on the accelerator to prevent it rushing up the exhaust it'd be fine.

Oh I'm not sure, I've driven (unintentionally I might add) my old Mitsi through water that was above the bonnet and it survived fine, no water came in either. Not quite sure how they could have 'sealed it up' tbh, only a snorkel kit would really help and it didn't have one.

Gotta say i was looking for a snorkel, unless they managed to get one through the bulkhead and draw air from the interior. That approach angle was simply too steep IMO, it certainly wont be the stock intake system.

Probably one of the episodes that cracked me up the most!! I was laughing so hard, especially at the hole in one of the Russian Ladas whereby you could fish at night with a hole in bottom of the car!!! ahahahahahahahaha

Well it was only a wave of water over the bonnet, doesnt mean that the water was filling the engine bay.

I actually thought that they should do similar segments in the future. Okay, not go racing in a shopping centre, but like you I thought the way it was all put together was very well done.
