On the road....
I have just fitted a Samsung HD322HJ, formatted the drive, installed Windows with no problem.

I then decided to hook up my old 160GB SATA drive to transfer some music over etc and the computer refused to even post to the BIOS screen.

Removing the HD322HJ resolves the problem and my PC will happily boot using the older SATA 160GB drive.

The new 320GB Samsung HD322HJ won't now detect on any of my 3 machines, its almost as if the flawless install of Windows & its assorted drivers was a mirage! :(

I assume its dead? - Any ideas?

Thanks.

Having tried the drive in my 3 other PC's, I assume its dead.

If I hot swap it, it simply crashes the PC I connect it too, otherwise, the computer freezes up on Post, and fails to detect it at all.

:(

Back to the shop tomorrow.

I'm just at a loss as to why it would format & install Windows fine, before becoming apparently dead, were it faulty, I'd assume it would not work out of the box.

I am rambling to myself, go on, continue to ignore me! :o:p;):D

Well I hope the one I just ordered is ok, will be finding out at the weekend.

I wouldn't worry too much mate, ALL companies across ALL component types get the odd defective item (assuming the drive is dead). With the sheer number of people buying Sammy F1's if there really was a reliability issue regarding their drives U would expect forums to be absolutely jammed full of peeps complaining.
