I dunno how people manage this. I'm Holy now that I'm level 80 and even killing a couple of mobs has me tearing my hair out with the boredom. Healing as Shadow is also pretty unfulfilling but you tend to spend less times in instances than you do questing. Shadow can pass muster as a healer but is a total levelling powerhouse. Holy does well in instances but I can only imagine the pain of completing 700-odd quests in that spec :)

At least Prot spec as a Warrior (another traditional hard-to-level spec) is steady these days and I suspect with very little risk or downtime. Roll on dual specs I say!

Mines cost me nothing to get from 375-430.

Just spam trade channels with orange/yellow/green free with your mats... and they come flocking. I havn't brought 1 mat for any of my enchants on my items, due to the amount of greens i got while leveling.

It was hell on earth I have to say :p prob with shadow trying to pass of as a healer is now you can "inspect" other peoples talent trees.
So much down time as your spells dont do enough damage you are squishy as hell so your taking lots of damage.

I guess thats why from me going from holy priest to Blood DK is like a blessing from god himself to me :p its amazing how quick i can kill things as a DK :D
 
The dual-spec patch will be one of the most important updates to the game in a long time. You pretty much won't struggle to find a group ever. For someone like me who just needs the badges from heroics, I'm not fussed if I go as healer or as DPS.

well yes and no. The main prob I see is you will get a lot of dps warrs etc. with no experience of tanking (thats just and example btw) assuming they can now tank just cuz they can swap spec.

The will prob have no tanking gear and might struggle........ then again i think about how easy the dungeons are so far and dont think it will be that much of a problem.

I think dps chars turning healer with no experience as well might be a problem.
 
Whats WoW like these days then? Not played since the first game, used to raid with my Rogue + Priest and managed to clear up to AQ40 so both are fairly well geared although I'm not sure that's the case anymore. Are the expansions worth playing or has the game gone downhill like I keep hearing?

Yoink, still lots of fun to be had, and the gameplay is as good as ever, just to sadden you, all your heard earned AQ40/Ony/Etc.. gear will be bashfully replaced by 65...with greens :D

The game certainly hasn't gone downhill, Blizzard have progressively added content, tweaked, balanced and re-tuned the game. It's better than it was back in the days of AQ40.

The problem is it's still the same game, gameplay doesn't change that drastically. Personally I quit a couple of months before the release of WotLK, but as someone returning to the game after a 2.5 year break you'll probably find a lot to like about it.

Fixed :p

Dual specs will be a godsend. Having more tanks and healers to go round can in no way be seen as a bad thing for the game overall, though yes it may indeed tread on the toes of people who only ever tank or heal instances and never set foot elsewhere and make a virtual living from it.

Personally I've lost track of how many times I've sat with my Holy Priest in a capital city (or simply logged off or swapped characters), not wanting to go out into the wide world to quest/pvp/grind etc, simply because I know how boring it is to do these things in a non-optimal spec.
 
Didnt know where else to put this, so thought this thread would be the bast place for it.

I have WOTLK and enjoying it, my girlfriend also wants to play WOTLK, someone mentioned to me that i could buy the serial online and use my disks to install it, is there any truth in this as it would be a better way to do it rather than buy the physical disks.

Yeah, if you buy an account upgrade via your account page you get a link to download the installer, which downloads and patches your game. It's about 5GB though.
 
ok, will just buy the disks then, im sure he said it was a bit cheaper though, but can only see the buy wrath online option which is the same price as buying the disks.

Ah well ill just buy it, saves the hasstle of downloading it.
