Hiya guys , I want to give Vista a try now that sp1 has been released but I only have 3gig DDR2 800.Will this be enough ? I mostly play SupCom and Grid:)
Cheers in advance....

Should be plenty for Vista, although I've heard SupCom can be a bit of a memory hog (well, an everything-hog really).

If I had Vista installed then a fast 2 gig would be the minimum I'd consider. I think it uses 1.5gig but I may be wrong there. You have 3 reasonable gig of ram so you should be fine.

It cannot run dual channel mode properly if you have 3 sticks on a modern 4 Slot Mobo.

It may indeed run 2 Slots in Daul Channel and the other 2 in Slots in Single Channel, I ain't ever tried as its totally pointless.

And older Socket A NF2's could run 3 sticks in Dual channel but the way it works out it cannot be 3GB (the 2 smaller sticks must = same as the 1 larger stick and be put in the 2 colour matched slots with the larger stick in the remaining slot). ;)

Example Asus (Socket A) NF2 Slot 1 (Back) 1GB / Slot 2 (Blue) 512MB / Slot 3 (Blue) 512MB < There is no way to get 3GB in Dual Channel in this Mobo as Memory do not come in 1.5GB and 750MB sizes. :)
