Shall i give WoW a go?

Right, im always slagging it off, but ive never tried it properly.

Had a go at the trial before but didnt know what i was doing so got really bored!

Im willing to give it another go now ive got some days off over Xmas, any advice?

Just enjoy it and don't play too much :D. It's a brilliant game.

Ignore what people here say (a lot of people here only **** it off because they got too dependant on it :p).

Oh.

OH

Like 99% of the retards on these forums who see no problem spending time on FPS but when it comes to WoW it's 'nerdy' :)

Anyway, yeah good game...don't take notice of the people I mentioned about above, they are just hopping on the bandwagon.

How long was I meant to wonder around for until I found some enjoyment then?

If you were just wandering then you were definetely doing something wrong. :p

It's a good game, easily accessible and great fun when you have people you know to play it with. Just don't go into the morning hours with it and you'll enjoy it.

Wow, someone who's thinking straight when talking about WoW for once :).

I hate how everybody here slags it off just because they played/play it too much

You don't have to wander around at all in WoW. You get a quest as soon as you go in game which guides you to killing monsters and progressing to the main towns/villages/areas. This quest leads onto another, which leads onto another etc.

No, I wondered around, killed some stuff, went in a cave, got made into a ghost thing. Then uninstalled it and played a decent game.

You didn't get the starting quests? Just randomly walked into a cave with lots of monsters then died... 10/10 for effort...

I can't remember, it was a long time ago, I think I did some quests though.

I said above about people you know; playing with them is a much better experience and half the time I logged on because of the people I knew. And playing with them. :)

Give it a go, the problem I found for anyone new is the low population levels for the early parts of the game.

A lot of the lower/mid level zones are now extremely quiet and there is little of the group instance adventures (like deadmines runs) like the good old days.

It is like a drug though, it will suck out your life if you get into it.

I dont know why people mock WoW so much - perhaps it has something to do with the stereotype goth wrist slasher image that we are all presented with when anyone without a scrap of real knowledge on the game formulates an opinion.

WoW is an incredibly detailed and rich game with absoloutely loads and loads to get stuck into. One thing i would say is that although there is a simple game mechaninc of kill X to gain Y - surely thats exactly the same mechanic in an fps? anyway, the point is that if you allow yourself the time to read the quests and understand the story lines then inevitably you will be drawn into a pretty amazing plot with massive diversification. Plus the graphics are gorgeous in places (even for a game of this age) and the sense of atmosphere that is created by the soundtrack is brilliant in places.

Dont forget that a lot more effort has gone into WoW than practically any other game ever made......ever. So why not jump in and see if you like it? im pretty sure you will, and if you dont, then you have not lost anything. Im sure Blizzard will continue to cater for the other 11million who do.

Dont listen to the pillocks who tell you its gash. Sure the image thing is something that everyone will have to worry about, but, just be selfish and give it a go regardless. Im a casual gamer who enjoys to play WoW 5-6 hours a week and have done for 4 years. I have been to and thoroughly enjoyed university having just graduated, i have a wonderful girlfriend and a steady job and life is good. As far as the other retards are concerned though, the fact that i play WoW must mean that im a sad cyber geek with no mates who wets the bed and goes shopping with him mum on saturdays.

Aint generalisation great eh?

I got to there then stopped reading, I realised you were an idiot.

I've been playing it on and off - I don't find it addictive like many people say... I think most people just use this as an excuse and to jump on the bandwagon... I bet most that said no to it in this thread haven't even tried it :p
