HTC HD - you got one? what you think??

My number has been transferred so I can start using it as an actual phone now :)
To confirm, this was a successful port from an O2 contract to this new O2 contract. So, it IS possible, as long as your existing O2 number is on a different billing system. In my case my original contract was taken when it was still BT Genie, and now this contract is with O2 but through CPW :)

MORE good news, I have got TomTom7 working on my phone with the full UK&Ireland maps. WOOT!!

Nice... I'm still tempting to get one of these if I don't like my iPhone due to be delivered today.

I am liking this phone more and more but the scotishness in me is making me wait till after new year lol, hoping for better deals i guess...

But that is a neat program. cant wait to see what else is out soon for it. All we [well me] needs now is a poker program :)

Definitely, one that lets me play for real money would be awesome as well.

Oh, and I would like something like the iPhones iPiano :)

I am loving it now, got it set up pretty much how I want. I just want to make a few more tweaks and I think I'll be happy :)
 
You do know ScarySquirrel that we are all waiting for you to get it just right, then we all want a list of the addons and tweaks you have done so we to can have a good phone.

Just warning you to write down everything you have used/done lol.

haha fair enough. I have barely scratched the surface of what is available though. XDA Devs is the place to be for that. There is a crazy amount of apps out there, you just need to know where to look :)
 
My HD is sat on my desk right now. :D One of my lovely housemates opened the door to the postie when I was asleep.

I have changed the bolt-on but couldn't change my number (thought that would be a problem), although retentions did offer me 75mins and 250txts for £20 over 18 months, it's tempting for someone else but I think I would prefer my number on my main account.

So i guess i'll need to transfer it with the PAYG trick, anyone know if a standard O2 PAYG sim is fine to use?

Make sure they definitely can't transfer your number. As I said I got my O2 contact number onto my new O2 Touch HD Contract as my number was on a different billing system.

You can usually tell by the tariff name. I was on O2 35 before, now on O2 600, they are pretty much the same, but different billing systems (and maybe different number of texts) so they were able to change it.

I got Transport Tycoon Deluxe running on my HD earlier :)
 
I got transferred to retentions after changing the bolt on and was told it was a no go unfortunately.

Where abouts do you get your login details for O2 online?

They text it to you.

Keep trying with the bolt on, so many people have managed to change it. Although it seems people are struggling now to get it changed.
 
Wahey - my Blackstone arrived this am :-)

Vodafone, 200 mins, 1000 text, unlimited web - £35 - phone free.

Already got a long list of apps ready to install - I'll report back how it goes :-)

The bolt-on change was easy, I just rang up upgrades and and the woman (supposedly) did it. I was then transferred to retentions to see if I could transfer my number straight from one to the other and was told I couldn't.:)

Ah, ok, I haven't actually inserted my new sim yet, I guess i'll get it when I do.

Time to start putting on some apps me thinks, especially the gyrator and full screen keyboard.

Also, strange question, how do you lock the phone... :o
 
Get S2U2 - I can't even remember how to use the in built winmob lock function. I also noted on my Kaiser pressing the power button quickly switches the display off - effectively locking it - maybe the same works for the Blackstone? I'll test it tonight.
