Coilovers

the H&R coilovers on my current mr2 are so much more comfortable than the tein's i had on the last one. like others have said, very comfortable, probably more so than the standard bilstein setup

how much did they set you back and where did you get them?

Konis yellows here with Avo springs on my old 220 tubby (me looks out the window at her :( ) Handled like a go kart :D

hehe, treated myself last year for working so hard ;) Still got the Rover and hopefully get her back on the road for the summer.

Actually just had a set of H&R's fitted to the RS today to keep things on topic, completly transformed the car

Can't believe you've still got the Rover Aaron!! Drive her much? I thought you sold the RS6 btw?

Yep, I couldn't bare to sell her for peanuts so she has sat in the driveway for a year doing nothing. Will definatley get it back on the rosd for spring/summer next year though as I'm getting the urge for some trackday action again :D

Wont be selling the RS6 for a quite a while yet, has cost me a bit this past year and with prices the way they are I'd rather keep it. Not seen much else that tickles my fancy anyway and its plenty quick enough ;) Remap and a new zorst next year :D

Been looking at prices for new Koni Yellow shocks and nearly everywhere I've seen is quoting prices of over £100 per shock! That can't be right surely?

For a set of new Koni shocks and then the springs on top will come to about £550.

How much you looking at for some crummy coilovers?

The sports kit was about £360 when I was aware of the market 2 years or so ago. You buy a kit, not individualk dampers.

Just wrote a decent size reply for my laptop to lose its net connection :o

Larkspeed has then at £440 and Ebay has a few at £415. A 220 Gti i bought for £350 had Konis, although the rears were unfitted brand new in the boot, driving that home I was very impressed compared to my red 220. I was even more impressed when I broke it and the front bumper went for £150 and the rear for £260 :D (carribean blue with Rover bodystyling PU-RIM kit)

i had koni yellows on the mondeo, the ride was better than stock and the difference it made was MASSIVE in the handling stakes as you know.

also, get your rear ARB sorted pronto as that makes a bigger difference than the front to how the car handles :)

Tom.

Jonny, that link is for the 96-99 400 models. Wasn't the rear suspension setup different on those?

And  at those bumper prices! I'm guessing this was a while ago now :D

I've been offered some Gaz 'Gold' coilovers for just a little more than the Konis in that link. They go for around £900 new! Now, I'm not just saying this because I originally wanted a coilover kit, but if I was to get the car set-up properly (I don't mind paying for a proper geo-setup) would you guys say that it's worth going down that route for a better mix handling/comfortwise than a Koni adjustable setup?

P.S. Your red 220 GTi was sweet! :(

Just to bump this (sorry) as I want to get some springs ordered tomorrow.

Basically just after some input on H&R springs.

Thanks.
