Now, first off i would say that while everybody's favourite are probably supercar manufacturers, this is unrealistic, i am talking everyday brands of which you have purchased or will be likely to purchase from.

I am more asking which marque you will always tend to bias toward when purchasing, and perhaps look at through slight rose tinted specs at..

Mine is fairly obvious, i believe that Mercedes and Porsche make the best everyday cars, and tbh i cannot see me shying away from those brands other than to perhaps BMW. My girlfriend drives a Porsche, and i drive merc's.

I believe Mercedes make something for pretty much everyone except the far bottom end where old examples are likely to be just too much bother, merc's depreciate nicely and are thus available to a lot of people from all walks of life. Their cars although not ultra reliable, are aesthetically lovely, and all perform well and have huge levels of kit available.

Meanwhile Porsche's Boxster range has brought prestige performance sports cars to the masses, and now the older ones even represent value for money. The 911 is a car which sits up there with the best, and yet remains reliable and usable every day, making it in my eyes a real possibility for an everyday car.

Whats yours? :)

I have to say Porsche.

Whilst i've never owned one, it's something ultimately i'd like to. IMO Porsche are one of the few "everyday supercars" that you can buy, drive and park without having to worry.

Would be good if people could write a short note about why their favourite is the favourite. Gobbo, thats pretty much what i was meaning with my bit about porsche, and is why they are a brand i will always favour.

tough question, I'd be inclined to say Aston, but to most, even the cheaper are still out of range, so, i'd say i equally like Audi / BMW as that is waht i was looking for when i bought my Audi.

A couple of people at work have had various ones, not all top spec ones, 993/996, couple of boxsters and others.

All of them you can use everyday, drive it to the shops etc with out the worry of other supercar brands.

I'd love to get myself a 993 at some point, just not financially viable at the moment.

In my eyes the german marques are always sitting on top, they have that perceived excellence, I'm not talking VW here I mean Merc,Audi and BMW, when looking at my next car it will be from one of those marques, probably BMW as they are renowned for their driving talents too.

Also on top of this I would count porsche as they make cracking quality cars that dont fall apart as shown by reliability surveys with a great look and a great driving experience.

From the next level down I would generally take a ford above the other brands due to the reviews most of their cars get, they have really moved on the quality levels/looks and driving experience you get in this lower end of the market.

there are two for me, bmw and porsche.

BMW because not matter what my personal criteria are when i go looking for a car, a second hand petrol BMW always manages to be the best car in the budget, the 6cyl engines are a joy and the interiors a nice place to be. i have had an e46 323ci, an e39 530i sport and now and e46 m3, 6 series or e92 335 coming next i think unless i get a 987 porka

porsche are a fav of mine, why, i dont know. the 911 has always been the one for me, not ferrari not lambo, not AM, get me a 911 turbo anyday.

I will own one at some stage, but a 987 S will be a nice starting point into the marque i hope

Superb cars Cyrus which would make a great entry to them and a nice little step over from the M3 you currently have.

The only thing which would be playing on my mind would be the fact that the 996 market is very competitive, for that reason i dont think i could bring myself to purchase a 987.

Ford & Suzuki.

Ford because it is ingrained in me through past ownership & being in & around Dagenham, Transit vans excite me & I have a Gen workshop manual from Ford that I use to read for fun :p My old Mk2 Tina 1600GT de badged & de chromed is my all time favourite motor.

Suzuki because of the Vitara I have & the Sj previously that Monsters all these other expensive off roaders my mates have. You just cannot beat Jap reliabilty.
The Vitara I currently own is now the motor I have owned longest in my entire life which says it all as I have bought & sold cars/vans for most of my life.

For me its Merc,Ford or Honda.

Ive always like the larger older mercs, just so damn solid, not amazing to drive but they just felt regal when I 1st sat behind the wheel of a 420 SEL as a child. The image seems right compared to BMW.

Ford for me are a great VFM option, lots of bang for buck, and pretty decent handling car for us ordinary folks.Honda, well Vtec yo, nuff said.

Honourable mentions to Pug, back in the day, they were the ones who consiStently made great Hot-Hatches, even now i can happily drive a GTI-6 or a 1.9 GTI instead of my ST3.

I'd love to say Porka or similar, but if im honest I'll never be able to own one for a long time.

Ford.

Because these days they seem to be producing very good cars, which are good looking, have a good range of engines, fairly good interiors, good handling, cheap repairs and all of this done for a lot less than the rivals. This value for money, to me, is very impressive!
