What is your favourite marque?

Stop looking to troll.

I agree with Mercedes would love to own an AMG varient :D

I'm actually being semi serious :o I drive an old 8v corsa b and it's a good basic car that puts up with a lot of abuse and poor maintenance..

Where as you on the other hand you are dreaming :p Have you ever driven an AMG merc? :D

The only Marques I can think of that I wouldn't mind owning any of their range (past or present really) are Porsche and Lotus.

For me, I want a car that is lightweight, no frills, revvy engine, just sheer fun, hence my two choices.

Saying that don't know if I'd ever buy a porsche, mostly due to money, not just whether I could afford it but whether I'd want to spend that much on a car, but they seem to encompass a pure drivers car in a package that is usable and friendly every day.

Lotus on the other hand I'm likely to buy an Elise in the next 'few years' depending on other plans and job/pay etc, more raw than a Porsche but also a lot cheaper and possibly even more of a drivers car.

Other options for future cars are generally just single cars where the marque itself doesn't stand out for me.

Honda, no other manufacturer has a true dedication to releasing truly fun drivers cars that are available to the masses (as long as you live in Japan anyway :p).

Honda / Toyota

Things just don't seem to go wrong and in recent years they've had some decent options for the money in the used market. Not so sure for the future when it comes to my next car purchase though.

Part of me likes the idea of a BMW 3/5-series but it'd really frustrate me with the expensive niggles. To me a BMW with a 6 cylinder engine is kind of like Andrex toilet roll, its very nice when using it but that level of comfort is maybe just not neccessary :p I can see how they appeal to many though.

Honda. Quality cars, reliable as anything, and they've made some fantastic engines over the years. Excellent customer service, too

I'd have to say Audi.

They are stunning cars with excellent reliability. Quite decent looks and more than enough power to split your face in half with smiling when you want it.

I know BMW probably matches most of this criteria too, but I can't stand BMW styling.

Surely that is a mercedes foible, rather than BMW. BMW are more driver orientated than outright comfort/luxury.

mine is toyota/lexus , I wouldnt mind a TVR ar some point though

If we are allowed TVR then I'd definitely make them my choice. Though I thought this thread was for cars you could buy and use everyday :)

Tbh everything about TVR I love. I love the fact they don't have great build quality, or safety. If they had all these then they would just be cars, I love the character that a TVR has

Going into the realms of weekend cars such as TVR wasnt really what i meant, i mean my favourite marque is aston martin with the exception of the V8 Vantage, but (to me personally) they are not a realistic brand that i'd ever buy to use.

Reliable, really? Rilot on here got rid of an A8 because it went wrong so much it was in the dealer more than his driveway. I've heard a good few others with complaints too.
Split your face in half with smiling? Most of their range is distinctly average in terms of performance, only the S and RS models stand out as being fast.

I love the ethos of Honda and their dedication to try something a bit different. They also make cars for everyone more or less. I'm surprised they don't do any vans though.

Also, for a younger person with not much money I haven't had the opportunity to sample many other marques but even out of the ad campaigns I have to give that to Honda too. They just make you feel good.

Well I personally have never been able to own one, and I know it's a bad idea but I'm simply going off reviews, owners comments, etc.

However I am very good friends with my neighbour who currently has an S4, and has always had Audi's in the 14 years I've known him, and I've never known any of them go in with any major faults that you could brand it as "unreliable" with.

As for performance, maybe I was being over generous with face splitting, but I personally do think that most of them pack enough of a punch for an everyday car.

Although hes only likely to see the bad ones, my mates an Audi technician, he says the reliability is shocking, generally worse the higher up the range you get.

My favourite has got to be Subaru - everything about them appeals.

Everyday cars with serious performance and are a nice place to be if you need to do a long distance. Fantastic :)

Audi would be my first choice but I do have a certain fondness for Vauxhalls as well. I've had a 6 year love affair with my Astra although it got kicked into touch when my brand new A3 got delivered 12 weeks ago.

I love the look of the Audi range and everything feels well bolted together. I'd have no second thoughts about having another.

Something Japanese.

Honda or Toyota for everyday
Though Subaru WRXs are good everyday cars as well, as does Mazda RX8.

Nissan with the old SX or the old/new GT-R for sports
But Mitsu with the Evo have to go there as well, and let's not forget the Mazda RX7.

I don't think I really have one, I love cars or types of car rather than marques, but I suppose I'd choose Subaru if I had to, I like the idea of a car for everything, any time, any road. Performance when you want it, 4 door saloon when you need it.
