I'm going mad here, bordering on depressed, could people please answer these two questions to keep me happy, first post here so be nice

Did you ever get teenage spots?

Did you ever outgrown them? (if so at what age)

I'm 19 now.

Yup, outgrown them now at 22, been totally clear for over year, with just using water and a mild soap and dabbing the face dry, to prevent aggravation of the skin. Its rough having them, go see your GP, they will give you things to calm them down and help you along with getting rid of them.

Sunlight (tanning) kills them off. I used to get spots (minor) but more or less have lost them now. I'm 19 also btw.

Why are you depressed about it specifically? (i.e. how bad is it)

I don't care about the imperfections on my face.

No answered relevant to seeing my GP please, i use water and nothing else. I see it as the best way to outgrow them naturally rather than covering my face in chemicals

Thanks guys, every person who i hear say they have gone puts a smile on my face

Because I'm very self conscious, please don't turn this into a medical thread recommending medications as it will only get banned :(

People say its all genetics etc etc whether you get them or not.

But I think the diet you eat has a MASSIVE effect on spots...

I'm 20 and still get them - and a big weekend on the lash eating curries, pizzas etc always brings up a nice few whiteheads :)
But when on more healthy stuff I'm fine :) Water is a big factor - make sure you drink plenty of it my friend!!
Just try a week of pure healthy eating with lots of water and report back :)! This seems to be the case with a few of my mates - all down to diet.

edit: Hope they clear up for you mate :)

Sorry to ask, but are you a girl? (Judging by your username)

I ask because its usually worse for girls (i.e. they get more distressed about it).

Boys don't usually care though.

(apologies if you are a boy (me and my assumptions), just trying to understand why you're so down about it).

Never really had them, got the odd few on my nose/forehead when I was 18-19, but that was it.

I do however get an incredibly greasy nose all the time :/

Believe it or not I'm a guy, and then i guess your next question would be am i homosexual, sorry to disappoint you again, I'm not :) I guess 21 is the age that i should really analyze the situation

= skin cancer. Outdoors tanning fair enough (in limited quantities and where possible).

Sunbeds are awful though. Something like 3x stronger than sunlight.

In moderation they arent that risky. Just be sensible, 3 mins a few times a week would help his face dry a bit. They always cleared up spots for me.

Everything gives ya cancer anyway these days. :p

Lol, I wasn't gonna ask that :/

Still though, take ppl's advise and eat less greasy foods, etc.

Yeah, I think people are OTT about it. But I still don't think sunbeds are the long term answer...maybe if he used them for a couple of weeks, got rid of the spots and then never went near the tanning salons again.

I've tried that before and it doesn't really have much affect on me, the only thing i stay clear of is milk, drink rice milk instead

I find when i drink water it gets worse! so i just stick to my green tea, think water clears out all impurities and whilst it probably does it brakes me out for some reason :s saying that though i was drinking it excessively, like 10 pints a day, maybe i should just drink it when I'm actually thirsty...
