Im waiting to get my artic cooler sorted out and i was just wondering how far i will be able to push my cpu on my gigabyte DS3L.?

Anybody got this chip or had this chip and had good OC with it?

I don't know about that one but i have had a E2180 to 3.6Ghz prime stable on a P31-DS3L. I would expect it to do at least 3.2Ghz. If you have just got it the E5200 would have been a better bet.

Just finished building a system comprising of a ds3l and e2200 for my cousin, infact he's just picked it up about 10 mins ago.

I was limited to using the the stock cooler but still managed 3.2ghz prime stable on 1.31v.

Prob the best budget board I've worked with tbh.

e2XXX series are the dogs dangly bits! You can clock the nuts off them and they will live forever.

With your board and chip 3GHz is a given, 3.2GHz not impossible and 3.4GHz+ with some skill and luck!:D

Cool, is that the one CPC had listed as their fave budget option?

I been buying £40 microATX G31 boards for builds recently and was quite pleased with the results, the IGP is quite a handy extra for the non gamer.

I should really check out some budget P31 boards too, what sorta FSB are they capable of?

Yes. It's a fantastic board and still for sale at less than £50. The latest version is the EP31-DS3L which is supposed to be more power efficient. I have had a E2180 to 3.6Ghz on one and somebody else on here has had a Q6600 to 3.6Ghz on one. Have'nt a clue at max fsb but at least 400.

I got a MSI G31 for a customer, it was a very poor clocker, so steer clear, couldn't even get 400 fsb out of it, with a known special e6300 that was capable of 520 fsb

So which board is dmxdex2020 using? :D

I was replying to you. :D

He still has'nt said which variant he has. I just presumed it was the P31 as it's a budget cpu. :D

MSI P31 boards should be avoided. Especially the Neo-F series and including the P35 Neo-F as well. Terrible boards.

That is the DS3L i have it does 1600fsb and 1200 fsb on the ram do not know why its listed as only doing 1333 fsb.

My board is being rma the north bridge runs real hot though.

When i get it back and get my artic cooler 7 pro replacement from ocuk hopefully should be able to oc it it better.

The stock cooler didnt fill the whole chip with thermal paste idle it ran at 40-43 degress.
