SSN have just had Hattons dad on the phone saying that they were approached yesterday about a rematch with Mayweather. He didn't give much away other than confirming that Hatton would happily take the fight. Didn't confirm if it would take place before a ight with Pacquiao.

I dunno. Hatton probably knows that he would have to knock him out - something that's unlikely to happen, but there's always a chance - but I couldn't ever see him turning down another huge payday, especially if it takes place in Britain.

He has less to lose from fighting Mayweather than he would have fighting Pacquiao. Mayweather, then Pacquiao, then retirement with a huge bank balance probably sounds like a decent idea.

money's money, he's now realised that, english fans being ridiculously into anything english, losing didn't effect how he was treated in any way at all. So he can get paid a crap load of cash, lose and still be beloved in his home town, boxers are in it for the money like most people in most jobs. Why wouldn't he take the fight?

he can't win, unless Mayweather gets into absolutely awful shape and doesn't train in the slightest, even then they were a miles apart in terms of fighting ability, it will take a untrained lazy and uncaring Mayweather for Hatton to win.

Financially it makes good sense for both fighters, but Hatton obviously needs the rematch more than Floyd and I also think the outcome would be the same, although Snr may make some difference.

their last fight was rather bland imo. would be nice to see a rematch, even if the outcome it the same, would hopefully be more intresting

re

i said mayweather last time they fought and ill say mayweather again...mayweather is a legend..hatton is not

I think Hatton would have done better with a different ref against Mayweather. If you remember the ref kept splitting them up instead of letting them box out of the inside and Mayweather was using his forearms a hell of a lot, often catching Hattons face.

I still think it'll be a monumental challenge for Hatton to win, but it'd be a great fight. I'd like to see both Hatton v Pac Man and Hatton v Floyd.

still the ridiculous opinion the ref split them to much. It was hatton and he was holding on every time. His entire tactic was charge past Mayweathers defence and hopefully catch him as he got there. The major flaw with the plan is Mayweather is stupidly fast and great at countering. Hatton got a smack in the face everytime he tried to get there, couldn't get close to hitting Mayweather and held on for dear life. Mayweather was better up close to, the fight was a farce of Hatton not even trying to box but assuming he could get inside easily by forcing his way in. It didn't work the first time or the 100th, he should have stopped and tried boxing after 1 round but he never did.

Terrible coaching and prep work for them to think that could work and for it to be advised, no plan b worked on to try something different if it didn't work and didn't adapt in the fight at all. Maybe they simply knew they could never win and they thought more holding = longer fight and less punishment and a rematch slightly more likely. I honestly don't know, but these boxers are a class apart and it will take an incredibly lucky day with a very under par mayweather to beat him.

Its a shame though, Hatton is uber fast but he's been trained for flurries of aimless crap boxing rather than accurate counter punching with incredibly speed and a good defence. With his speed, he can take a punch pretty well, his power had he been taught to fight rather than brawl he might have been fantastic. Even with Mayweather Snr coaching him its probably to late in his career, or too far in to significantly change his style. He'll never be a true champion without better quality boxing.

Will be a very interesting rematch, would be good to see what mayweather snr can do against his own boy!

Retiring just meant more money needed to be put on the table for him to fight, it also meant he could pick and choose who he fights, instead of needing to be champion and take mandatory fights.
Nice position to be in, just hope calzaghe doesnt take the same route.

i'd like to see a rematch, Mayweather won by stopping Hatton's gameplan and not leting him fight how he wanted, then basically out classed him.

if this goes ahead it could be a cracking fight of which i'd love to see Hatton take revenge..

Mayweather should fight Pacquiao
Mayweather should fight Margarita
Margarita should fight Pacquiao

It's that simple.

Fixed ;)

all 3 would be far more interesting than seeing Ricky Ko'd within a few rounds or holding on for an entire fight. He's just not in their league. Mayweather and Pacquiao are simply awesome boxers, Margarita is between a great boxer and a great brawler but he's basically the toughest brawler of all time(almost). Hatton is a brawler and not that good with it. He's not in the same league as the other 3 and Margarita mostly makes it into their league due to a, frankly, ridiculous ability to take punishment.
