i have over the last year got into flying RC helicopters as a small but wallet damaging hobby, i have a blade cx2 and a blade 400 3d and im currently thinking about getting a bigger heli, does anyone on here fly them and what have you got? i have been looking at getting a Trex 500 as my next bit of kit. only issue im going to have is joining a local club to fly something bigger.

Are these the Nitro ones you are on about? the big beasts not little toys?

Whats the insurance like on them bad boys now. i read a few years back you had to have 1million public liability. to be that just suggests dangerous.

Electric can be just as bad.

I've been thinking about getting a radio control heli for a little while now. What's this about needing insurance for them?

it wasnt funny at the time it flippin hurt, then little bits flew off that ive just worked out how to get back on. tried flying it outside and got it off the ground and then promptly flew sideways and into the ground resulting in cracked roters. ha not going well so far.

goto a site called radds, its basically a flight school for RC helis, iw should get you in the air if you follow it.
also get onto one of the sites mentioned above.

I'm really gutted :(

I broke the heli I got for christmas :(

It crashed and now the rotors are out of sync so it just shoots backwards instantly and no longer flys :(

I'm seriously considering buying a Blade 400... It will be my first heli and from what I'm reading it isn't recommended for beginners at all but I don't really like buying things that would limit me in what I could do.

I am very patient, though, so would take things very slowly.

Damn my impulse buy cravings!
