badbob, do you honestly think he spent all that money and hasn't had the sound stage setup perfectly.

Also i suspect the sub setup will be perfectly in time and everything on balanced inputs so i suspect it will be astonishingly good.

you can never impress armchair experts on tinternet especially in audio, some of them are the most delusional elitist snobs about.

Is a bit depressing in some ways, surely he can find better things to spend that much money on and if not then perhaps he ought to give some of it away.

he probably has other money to spend on "better things" - I doubt he spent his last $6m on the home cinema!

Also, why should other people enjoy his money if he can think of ways to spend it that HE will enjoy? (and bear in mind that he thinks he might make more money off selling these things to other multi-millionaires.)

out of interest how does this compare to something you would find in the cinema in terms of quality?

I would imagine it would far exceed pretty much anywhere!

Far to much of a mess to me. Almost certain a similar result could have been achieved with far less money, but then, that clearly isnt the point.

Tube amps are nice but HT would be the last thing I'd use them for... Also, the sub placement is all wrong, he's gonna have cancellation issues...

Also, the room itself is far from ideal (acoustically)...

very nice indeed.
I was going to get something like that but then realized my house was nowhere near big enough, oh and i didn't the cash either :D

Man, that is insane! :eek::D
Didn't know you could ever spend that on home theatre. Incredible.

Also, the sub placement is all wrong, he's gonna have cancellation issues...

Also, the room itself is far from ideal (acoustically)...

I don't know much about noise cancellation but, as previously mentioned, this guy didn't spend millions without industry expert advice.

Still think layout is lousy, why not have the amps in another room / partition? Also having 16 subwoofers in a room is a bass node setup nightmare.

I agree it's not setup practically. But it's intended as a show-piece. He wants potential customers and investors to see just what is involved is such a project.
I'd have as much of it hidden away as possible.

That really is quite a setup, but its nice to know that money cant buy you everything.

surely after speding 6 mill on that he would have a bit of change to throw transforms way! :p

I find it quite touching he lets his cleaner sit down and watch films on her breaks.

Lets be honest here. He set up the room to LOOK impressive to people that HAVE money and probably don't know a lot about sound.

You don't go selling $6 million audio system's to every audiophile. You sell to top business men trying to show off, sports stars etc...

cinema != best though.

Wow...someone has a lot of cash, and needs to be donating it to charity, not spending it on ridiculous "entertainment" systems.

hahahahahahahahahahahaha

Supertweeter to the rescue!

bet it wouldn't look half as good when all the cables are connected. What are those things at the end of the poles you can see in the very bottom right and bottom middle?

They are Murata Supertweeters (10) and they cover the range from 15k - 102.5k Hz.

Essentially they provide flat upper treble and suprasonic frequency response both in band and beyond. :cool:
