New Years Eve

NYE is usually the biggest let down of the year if you go out. Expensive, over crowded and never lives up to expectations.

Very true. I must have gone out to town 6-7 years running on NYE and it never seemed to turn out that good. It has no more potential than any other night out and when you're going out most weeks (back then) it just doesn't seem that special. You have to pay to get into just about every pub, it's impossible to get a taxi back so end up walking home, spend a fortune, every time you go to the bar you have to leave the group for 30min while you que. I think it's best to either stay in or go to a house party.

Im going to be working the door, not to bad i suppose, never really that busy and its beenm inncident free the last couple of years so should be an oright night. Have a quick look at the ladies as well if i get the chance:D

abso bloody lutely.

Couldn't give a toss about new year.

The streets awash with vomit, totally over the top fireworks scaring the living crap out of animals from Land's End to John o'Groats. Jools Holland on the tele with the same miserable, uninteresting **** he had on last year. Idiots take to the streets in packs singing Auld Lang ***** as they bounce off parked cars & lamp posts.

Hopefully I will sleep though all of this faux jollity. I can get ****ed any time of the year and not pay OTT prices for beer AND to cough up to enter a pub. The ****holes are only too pleased to have me in for FA the rest of the year. Nah bugger new years eve.

What's there to celebrate anyway? Another year of financial debt and another year closer to death. How many more family and friends' funerals will I have to attend in 2009? We’ll soon see. Judging by the last few years, I'd better get my suit dry cleaned sharpish.

One word for it all - starts with B and ends in ollox.

Well, after 8 years of doing sweet FA for New Year (wife & child responsibilities), seeing as we split in May this year, I am going to stay with friends in Hampshire, go to the local pub across the road (small village, so not too packed and no entry charge!), and get pleasantly wasted. Should be a good night...

Going to Hogmanay in Edinburgh this year.

Last year the GF and I went to Portugal, that was brilliant. I think we're going to make it a habit of going away from now on, it's much more fun/special that way. Looking at Sydney next year as a possibility :)

Get mongoed out my face with drink, throw up in someone elses house and run away, not seeing said person ever again.

Probs gonna end up at someones house party, playing some ridiculously dirty drum & bass/dubstep! Gotta be plastered tho!

haha

Sitting at home hoping nothing gets blown up. Common practice here that on new years eve everyone tries to blow others stuff to pieces, luckily in my street it's usually fine but know people who had their cars set to fire or heavy fireworks thrown through the front door ( through the mailbox).

I'll be at work from 7pm until 7am:( wife has offered to babysit for out twin 3yr old nephews so that my sis and bil can go out for once.
Usually have a house party and invite close friends around, have done the overcrowded town and butt raped taxi home scene many times over the years.

Snowdog,
I went to the Dam for New Years a few years ago and I know what you mean about the fireworks. They sounded like mortars going off.

Not too sure yet myself, but will involve enough alcohol to take out a horse. ;)

Sounds good to me!!

Was going to go around the pubs up Clayton but looks like were off to town now :D Which is better :D

Start in Clayton round 5ish :D Then go off to town at like half 9 :)

Should be a brilliant night to be honest, getting the tickets bought today.
