PS3 DVI cable?

Looking in clerance there seems to be a few but none of them state HDCP. Youll need a HDFury cable that will bypass it and allow you to connect your PS3 via VGA. Theyre quite expensive though but at least youll have DVI free now for your computer.

I don't know whether you saw my double post, but how would I check for compatibility in my HDTV?

Im guessing this is another screen? TBH if the TV has got a HDMI port then its pretty much guranteed to be HDCP compliant as the encryption is mandatory under HDMI regulations iirc. If you can try a blu-ray film via HDMI the screen will go blank if it isnt compliant. lol

It's a different screen yeah.

It was one of the first HDTVs around and as such hasn't got an HDMI port.

Also, I don't have a PS3 yet, this is all in preparation for when I eventually get round to buying one.

Model number/name etc!!

I am not sure what happens if you use Component on a PS3 and play Blu-Rays (I assume your HDTV will have component).

Youll need a PS3 Component cable then, HDCP only applies digitally, so if youre not going to be using HDMI or DVI at all, you don't need to worry about it.

Well the HDTV does DVI and Component. I just guessed DVI would be better image quality.

Getting model no. now.

LG RZ-26LZ55

Just did a quick google and looks like other people are having issues with PS3 and DVI. Yet this suggests otherwise:

A few websites Ive found say that is in fact HDCP compliant via DVI so based on this all you will need to get is a HDMI to DVI cable.

Aren’t there two types of DVI too – DVI-D and DVI-I iirc, this has caught me out in the past, as I think one isn’t available in HDMI to DVI…. or am I thinking VGA to DVI :p

Scort.

Yeah DVI-I can't be converted to HDMI as it an analog VGA signal over a DVI cable.
