Just saw this on news for gamers, it would seem that the 360 has a fair few differences, in a good way, over the PS3’s version at present, but as for “gimped” version – maybe you should read the article, it’s still in development from what I read; may want to save your judgement for when it’s finished :D

Glad I have the option for both, but for such differences, doubt I’d bother getting it for my 360.

Scort.

mmm does seem odd.

They are both still being developed so I guess they might end up similar once it is finished. But it does seem odd to have the same demo for each console and they both differ by quite a bit in my eyes graphically.

Owell only time will tell :D

looking forward to some more resi evil :)

I feel genuine pity for anyone upset by that difference. The character models looks exactly the same.

Oh no, the moss has gone!

the only real advantages i can see is the texture detail in the distance which is noticably better in the 360 shots. as for everything else id just say it was different, not better or worse. although the 360 shots do seme to do dark better. the missing haze effects and such are obvious though but never fear, apparently the ps3 will take over as the lead development console and games will be better on the ps3. or at least thats what people here seem to think!

lol at this section:

What you should keep in mind when viewing the pictures below is that, as of the publishing of this article, the game still has three months of development time and any of the things you see below could very well be changed by the time the game is released. Another thing you should note is that I took these shots through component video output on both consoles. Its common knowledge that the Xbox 360 has a sharper output that the Playstation 3. As with most multi-platform releases, it's standard practice for different platforms to be on different build releases as they are created. So while these two demos were released just a few weeks apart, it's very likely that one of them is using old assets and code, which may help explain some of the differences

then thinks why bother creating article apart from causing some idiot fanboy comments.

yea I think you have to be a right fool to be upset/angry at it.

I just thought it was odd that there was a difference tbh :p meh maybe thats just me :)

There are differences between the two, but as said above, its more a case of there being differences rather than one being 'offensively' better.

+1 (Although the 360 one DOES look better, you can see the details in Chris's jacket more clearly)

More importantly (imo) why can't we get these demos now!!!! Japn xbox have had it for a while. Non Japan 360's don't have it, nor does any region PS3?

Considering I played the same demo on both systems when the Eurogamer Expo was on (incidentally there the PS3 version was better as it had no/less tearing than the 360 version, but could have been the TV setup.) it seems weird the demo is not released yet, to the general public.

Sadly this is the case on quite a few multiplat titles. Still shots show the differences visibly, but when playing in game you would not notice imo. Werird this game suffers (if the differences exist when it is released) as Capcom are normally quite good at "equalising" games, functions on both 360 and PS3 versions of same titles.

I personally wouldn't count that as a difference, or more accurately, it isn't something I would ever bother to spend time thinking about.

If I had the choice of either version based on those screenshots, I would get the version which happened to be cheapest.

texture detail does seem to be better on the 360 however three months to go so plenty of time for change. Anyway i'll get whichever version happens to be the best on release.

I wouldnt worry to much about an old demo, according to Kotaku they have seen a later build and they look the same. The PS3 shots are done over component rather than the 360 VGA that could explain some of the differences . Does still seem like the 360 version suffers more with screen tearing than the PS3, this also will probably be fixed by the games release, but you shouldnt judge the finished game with old demo code. If its only about the graphics then wait for the PC version if you have a decent one, if not i cant think there will be much difference in the end products.

tbh I'm just going to go with the cheapest :p

I dont care about subtle differences in essence it is the same game. Its not about the graphics its about the ..... :D
