Whats your favourite weapon in a game ever?

favourite ?

Crowbar < Half Life series.
Kar98k < Call of Duty.
mavity Gun < Half Life 2
D eagle < Counter Strike: Source
Springfield < Call of Duty.

Probably my favourite.
Gotta get back into my online shooters !

I have several favorites... most of which feature in a console game called Resistance 2.

The Bullseye: Ever seen The Fith Element? Remember that gun that if you shot the enemy then all bullets would then seek that enemy? Yep, this gun does that, even around corners.

Pistol: A gun that shoots bullets that can then explode when triggered. Can be used to gib enemies that you've already shot or turns corpses into booby traps

The Auger: Sees through walls, shoots through walls, can create force field walls, win!

The classics that i'll always remember would be the BFG, the mavity gun, the super weapon from Turok 2 (can't remember the name) and, of course, the lightning gun from Quake. Honorable mention goes to the rocket launcher from Team Fortress Classic, probably my most used weapon in all of history.

I dont think weve had this thread before but thought it might be a good bit of fun...

We have a couple of times I think, search turned up this one but I'm sure there was a different one: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17594178

I stand by what I put in that thread, Painkiller/Serious Sam have both have a great arsenal, but as neither title was especially hyped the weapons don't always get the recognition they deserve. Haven't played much over the past couple of years that would make me change my mind, although C&C Renegade does have a nice array of weaponry.

Moving away from the FPS genre, the beam cannon from Freespace 2 is worthy of mention, especially considering you never actually get to use it yourself! I don't think I've ever played a SP game where you feel so glad to see a teammate show up, the joy as you hear a cruiser beam cannon blasting away at your foes from kilometres away is unbelievable.

Railgun in Q2 for me.

The one in Q3, although good, was easier to hit people with, as hitting them with the spiralling trail also counts as a hit. With Q2, you HAD to make the middle few pixels count!

Infinite launcher in resi evil purely because it's a weapon that is so out of context with the rest of the game that you just feel dirty for using it.

However, if we can't have hidden weapons, i'm gonna say the unreal tournament's dual enforcers, for the accuracy and shear power of such a standard weapon where 1 is ok but having 2 of them is absolutely ownage for both short/mid range combat, although obtaining one involves a respawning frag, so they can be hard to acquire, which makes them all the more rewarding.

You did say in a game, and so not PC specific?
If thats the case, the cerebal bore from Turok on the old N64 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEKLa373SIw

PC only, silenced G3 from CoD4, love it, it's the reason i still love to play that game!
Yeah any games fine, just cba to post in Consoles atm and considering how long weve had PC Games I thought we would have a larger base of answers...
