Strange lights in the sky (yeah I know, New Years Eve...)

Lens flaring on cheap compact digital camera is a problem aye :p (though I can't complain for it being a prize!)

But notice how fast the one at the back caught up to the one at the front? large patch of sky to cover!
 
They look like lanterns from the video. When they get high up they'll be carried by the wind which can be quite high velocity at altitude.
 
That could explain why they followed the same path - would that also make them go higher and lower into the clouds too?
 
must admit Mrk they moving faster than ive seen before, but they do do "strange" things. Winds are quiet high at the moment though, surface winds are slight but a few 100 ft up they in the 30s i believe so i recon they are fight lanterns

the 10 or so i saw over a period of a few days changed alt and speed a lot, but im guessin as they warmed up they gained alt, but lost speed. Once up high, they gained speed which musta taken the heat out of them so they fell. Sometimes they fell so low they disapeared behind trees/houses before "shooting" back up. Very wierd actions by a paper baloon with a candle init lol.

The first one appears stationary, it moved slowly until vanishing over the horizon, the last 2 are moving, the one at the back moving much faster catching up to the one at the front. The video is poor though so you'd be better off reading the thread description to get an idea :p
 
Its probably something to do with Barrack Obamas New world order.

I can tell by the bright lights, and unexplained phenomena and from seeing quite a few conspiracies in my time.

I know, sorry, My mums been getting hysterical because she cant contact my brother who's flown to america to persue a relationship with a **** he met over ebay.

Im not in a good mood at all.

Cant go out with freinds either otherwise mum'll be home alone on bloody new years night.

My uncle is one of *those* people, he puts pieces of tissue in the cracks in the wall. And he faces the TV to the wall when he wants to have a conversation with you.

Every helicopter is meant for him etc. I'd love to live my life like that, tried it once but got bored. Paranoia is really boring, surprisingly.
 
I saw some lanterns a couple of summers ago, and they looked exactly like you described. It took a few minutes to realise what they were and just shows how people who just jump to conclusions without thinking think they are space ships.
