Whats your favourite weapon in a game ever?

re

Goldeneye on Nintendo 64 back in 1997...first time i ever used that sniper rifle on the first level,i think it was the first game ever to allow you to zoom in with a weapon...now its standard in all games

Railgun in Q2 for me.

The one in Q3, although good, was easier to hit people with, as hitting them with the spiralling trail also counts as a hit. With Q2, you HAD to make the middle few pixels count!

Isn't it the other way around? I remember the Q2 railgun was the one with a spiralling trail, and the Q3 railgun was the one with a straight, linear shot, almost like a laser.

Perfect Dark - Slayer Missile.

When you fired it your viewpoint shifted to the missile, you could fly it around looking for someone to kill.

Its a close call for me between the conc grenade and the rocket launcher in TFC. Probably the rocket launcher would be my fav as its so versatile :D

Throwing knives in Soldier of Fortune 1 was massively satisfying. Leaning round a corner and sinking one into an enemy's head was great fun - with superb visual and audio feedback.

Notch up some more loving for the Quake 2 railgun while you're at it too.

all guns in soldier of fortune 1 and 2 were satisfying :p!

the L96A1 on battlefield 2 was awesome. i loved firing that thing and getting a head shot. when you fired it, there was like, the initial bang, followed by a soaring noise (i think its from the echo of it firing) awesome gun!

also, the MG42 from day of defeat source, amazing gun, shame it overheated if you kept the trigger pinned. if all the other team was rushing a room, you could easily mow them all down with this gun without dying. (provided you were prone)
