50k on the clock.. Too much?

The car will feel exactly the same as a 5 year old car with 150k on the clock as it did with 30k on it. All it needs is to be well maintained.

Well no, thats not exactly true, as no amount of servicing will stop rattles and creaks developing in the interior. Some cars this will be true of, but whether a Mini will feel 30k fresh at 150k is far from certain.

That sounds like we can't shift this car so can you please buy it?

It's only just coming into stock.. well at least so they say, i'm supposed to be seeing it as the customer has left it..

@Fox: unfortunatley rattles are something you get used to!

It's about average mileage? 54 plate means it's at least 4 years old, 50k in 4 years = 12500 miles per annum.

As regards looks, it's not a bad looking colour.. would be very similar to this..

That would be the case if the car has loads of miles. But it hasnt, so its been a normal everyday car. Probably owned by a Woman.

It's a bloke actually. :p

Well my 2002 Cooper S has hit the dizzy heights of 64,000 and is going strong (albeit having a new PAS pump last year) and having a smaller S/C pulley for over a year too. It has its rattles from the interior but I don't mind them too much.

I was very careful in saying a 5 year old car there, where it would have spent it's life on the motorway doing 30k a year having a relatively easy life. A mini is not exactly a Fiat seicento although not quite a e39.

You've no possible way of knowing that :p

I do lol, beacause like i've said in my previous posts, i'm very good freinds with the dealer, he says it's a bloke, and the V5 will no doubt say the same!!

My parents car has my dads name on the V5.

He has probubly driven it 3 or 4 times in 4 years.

Out of interest, how tall are you west, and whats a cooper s like to drive?

Oh and 50k isn't that much at all for a modern engine :)

6"2 and about 20st :)

I've driven an R56 JCW as well as the R53 Cooper S, and it's an absolute hoot to drive, the noise is fantastic :)

Are you worried about the mileage affecting the value leaving you with lots of negative equity? The outcome of that will depend on whether you put 25k or 100k on it. If you plan to keep the car for a long time then the mileage is nothing to worry about.
