Is abusing people replacing ignoring people?

Is anyone else noticing that people no longer take the 'blinker' aproach when they drive like a complete tard, and instead will make as much abuse and noise and fuss as they can, even when they are clearly in the wrong.

Tonite comming home from work I get to a crawler lane, and the woman infront pulls out, and then proceeds to carry on at the exact same speed as the person infront of then, hence not overtaking anyone, and annoying everyone behind. Its annoying, I know, but I slot back in behind her and carry on. Next we get to a roundabout with 3 choises, left, right and straight on, with 2 lanes, so I rightly get into the right lane, indicating right, to go right. The woman infront gets into the left lane with no indicators, yet as I round the roundabout she goes all the way round and tries to go right, meaning I get the horn and the full beams when I pull off the roundabout infront of her. Aparently this makes me satan or something, even though they are clearly in the wrong. I get the full beams and the horn and the abuse. Next roundabout is the same, left right or straight on with 2 lanes, but this time were going straight on, so in the left lane I get and carry on around the roundabout and of at the 2nd exit, but the tard behind has decided that shes going to floor it up the right lane, atraight accross the roundabout and lean on the horn while slamming on the breaks as its only a single lane off the roundabout and she only just avoided hitting me or the bollars in the centre of the road. Again, aparently im wrong, i get the full beans all the way thru the town, shes right in my bumper, and the horn is going constantly. Next roundabout I go left, she goes straight on (using the right hand lane of course, cos she clearly doesnt know which is the correct one) but as she does so she floors it past me, and both her and her boyfriend give me the finger as she plows straight accross the roundabout, not looking mising the guy coming round the roundabout infront of her my mm's at most. They then dissapeared off into the distance as I traveled home.

As far as im aware I was totally in the right (please correct me if not), yet they will now go home and tell tales of "some **** cut me up at the roundabout, blah blah blah" and think that using the wrong lanes at roundabouts, driving with full beams and the horn on through a town, accelerating wildly at the side of other cars, shouting abuse and not looking while speeding accross roundabouts is fully acceptable? I think I prefered it when people who drove like idiots just ignored you and pretended you werent there.

Anyway, rant over.

I think silly season brings out the idiots tbh. I had some Hiace van thingy cut me up in a left only lane yesterday - funny thing is he then proceeded to swerve back to the correct lane to head to the next exit on the roundabout - I was a bit

I have got into the habit of always knowing what's going on in the lane to my right on the Motorway now - it's saved my bacon several times being able to move over when some knob suddenly decides to pull out right in front at me while doing about 20mph less than me (usually without indicating). Seems to be quite common at the moment.

Got bored reading half way though...

But I've started undertaking ******** that just sit in the middle lane.

The thing is, if you and several others overtake them correctly, they still don't get the message :( One thing I like about the French is that they can drive properly on motorways :)

This is something I try to do a lot, be very away of whats happeing infront of you in all 3 lanes, and expect that tool in the slow car to decide to pull out infront of you without warning.

You know that person who sat doing 60 in the middle lane will go home and tell her friend/partner/family about how "some ******* idiot undertook her today on the motorway!"

If you can be undertaken, your in the wrong lane.

It worries me how some of these people got their licences in the first place tbh. I do 60 miles a day and the amount of total dribbling tards on the road beggars belief. Fortunately I either have two tonnes of fun with me in the form of a 7 series that makes me look like a smack dealer or an mx5 can nip out of the way of most things.

Why post such tripe? All you seem to do in motors is just spam complete rubbish, most of which is aimed to wind people up. Save your time and post elsewhere please.

As for the OP, unfortunately people seem to think that full beams and horns are for showing off how inept they are at driving. If someone doesn't understand the highway code etc. then they do what they like and assume everyone else is in the wrong.

Only thing to do is ignore them and remain calm (as you seem to have done whilst driving at least), and not worry about it afterwards.

As for the question you posed with the title, yes, due to lots more idiotic drivers on the roads these days.

I just laughed and drove on. What worries me is that she was putting a lot of effort into holding the horn for circa 2 mins, having her lights on full and being in my boot. At what point was she taking any note of what was going on around her? If we had been a couple of seconds later getting to the final roundabout she would have driven straight into the side of someone at around 40mph in the middle of a town, whilst looking the wrong way and swearing...

I have had some success though..

I remember on christmas day traveling to my grandparents some guy was just sitting in the right lane of a dual carridge way going 60mph (about 1mph faster than people in the left hand side) causing a tailback..

I waited until there was enough space to undertake him, then 3 other people followed me and did the same :p I saw in the distance the guy realised everyone was getting ****** and finally pulled over.

With people like that all you need to do is do a quick flash of the lights behind them and they normally get the message. A lot of them people are too used to sitting in the middle lane of the motorway and so just stay in the right lane. They are plebs though and need to learn lane discipline.

The ignorance of their surroundings and concentrating only on the person that they think is in the wrong is very worrying though.

If thats what you believe then it appears to be working quite well ;)

:p Not really in this thread, others you do post some pointless tripe though. ;)

People do seem to act a little stranger this time of year.

I went to Bristol for New Year and on the way down and back I had about 3 drivers in total who came screaming up behind me on the motorway, got so close I could no longer see their lights and then nearly take my paintwork off as I move over.

Now I know I was in the overtaking lane but I had nowhere to go on the left of me as I was overtaking a long line of cars and I was already going fast enough as it was. Strangely all of these muppets drove Audi A3's, so perhaps Clarkson is right.

I saw some awesome overtaking too.. well I say over taking but:

On xmas day I saw a BMW 7 series absolutley kane it past me (we are talking 120mph+) on the a10 then slammed the brakes on about 100 meters down the road because someone was in the way.. Gave them some flashes and horns then began to zoom off again :D

you get it all the time round where i live.

i had an incident a few months back where some idiot tried to cut me up from them being in the wrong lane... she ended up slamming her brakes on, pulling in behind me and then proceeded to flash her lights, and blast her horn at me. I gave her the birdie, and carried along to shop where i was heading.

when i pulled up in the carpark she followed me, and pulled up beside me, jumped out of her car and started F'ing and blinding at me.. demanding that i should goto the police station with her and tell them what i had just done....

i just told her what i thought, and walked off
