Good online source for Manbags?

I do find it pretty lame how people sit around with their laptop in bars just hoping to god that someone sees them there, to justify the extra expense of an apple...

thats crap, just like the stereotypes about BMW drivers and many other things.

Well, everyone I see sat around with their latte and macbook seems pretty smug.

The ones with PC's don't look as vibrant and self satisfied - probably because their GUI is slightly less polished.

Haha, a new troll to play with. Let's feed you a while.

Because you see (probably in some form of media, based on stereotypes) some people looking full of themselves with Macbooks, you assume that you're seeing a representative sample of Mac users?

I don't really see it as an insult to look vibrant and self satisfied. If my computer did that for me, I'd see that as a great reason to go and buy one. Of course, the nature of consumerism is to make one think that their purchases define and complete them. If this were the case, life would be so much simpler.

Haha. It's so cool to say that Apple products are only for people who buy a computer because it looks good (that is just an added bonus for most, I would say)

Agree.

Macs are so crap they only have one mouse button.

And you can't right click.

I've got a rucksack for my laptop - specifically designed for laptops with a section on the inside. Space for the laptop, charger and all the rest of the Uni crap.

Cool. no one I have worked with has been given one as a laptop carrier and i cant say any of the people i know who carry them out of work use a rucksack.

I've seen some in the more obtuse clothes shops in towns. Might be able to find something a bit less generic :D

Fox, The rucksack with a laptop compartment sounds awesome. Who makes it?

You know, I opened this thread knowing full well many of the responses would be mocking. Yet still I've been suprised by peoples need to project their own insecurities onto others. The OCUK not-laid-brigade strikes again :p

Ant

Loads of companies make them, Lowepro, Crumpler, plus most of the sports lines now.

And to make things clear:-

Rucksack = Rucksack
Messenger bag = Messenger bag
Gym bag = Gym bag

Small purse/handbag sized bag held in the hand by men = Manbag

First three good, last one BAD!!

I use a rucksack for my laptop and DSLR (Crumpler Prettyboy Laptop Backpack if anyone is interested).

I found a messenger bag gave me a really bad back with the weight of my 17" MBP + Camera and gubbins. The rucksack distributes the weight a bit better.

Panzer

I use my JanSport Trinity III for general everyday uses, including shoving my laptop in - had that about 5 years and it's still good as new. Looking at getting a JanSport Elefunk though as a messenger bag.

Plenty of decent bags aorund... Topman do good Dunlop ones as stated, and Ricer Island had some decent leather ones last time I checked. Also good are leather shops, though you will pay a bit more there obviously.

Check all the obvious fashion sites like M and M direct, Debenhams, Firetrap, Sonneti etc as there are a ton out there.

Ignore all the alpha wannabes who for some reason seem most insecure with their sexual selves, manbags are common and functional.

It's a Targus. I had never seen them before but when I worked for the NHS they came with each Laptop. I liked it so when I went back to Uni I bought one.

yea ive got one aswell nice bag holds my laptop nicely and has room for more things aswell.
the one i have has 3 compartments inside with the middle one beeing for the laptop to slide into

I prefer a bag so i can carry my wallet, phone, iPod and whatever else i need. I don't call it a manbag because a REAL manbag is like a tiny handbag, so small that nothing can fit in it. Ronaldo had one so Google it. But its a satchel...not a manbag. See the picture in the thread actually, thats a real manbag.

GAYER THAN GAY.

Put your wallet phone and keys in your pockets like a real man. Only use a bag for carrying other stuff, you have a penis for Christ's sake, have some self respect.

OCUK home of the insecure.

I use a rucksack when I need to carry a hefty load. Not because I think satchels are gay but because I cycle and do a lot of walking in the country and a satchel is less than practical on a bike or halfway up one of the Wainwright's :)

My MacBook (yes another Apple owner) goes in a pink be-ez Robe sleeve and then goes in my rucksack. However I don't take it to Starbucks or the Pub but I don't see a problem with doing that if you wanted too. Doesn't make you pretentious and it doesn't make you gay if you use a stachel to transport it there.

Unless you fancy blokes having a satchel (or messenger bag) does not make you gay.
