I've been trying to source any information on this picture, like photographer, magazine, collection, anything and I can't. Really want a high resolution version to print out or even buy if there's a good poster out there of it. Best I've found is this:

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Plannign to print it A3, so that image scaled to A3 will look terrible. Plus I know there's atleast one better quality version out there somewhere, probably a few.

Depends how far away your going to be looking at it, if you only have to look at it a metre or more away then you could get away with it, I managed to get it even bigger, with a bit of time you could get it fairly big.

Many thanks for the effort but I want it in very good quality really, I've found some information on it finally; it was taken by Sam Shaw at Marilyns Roxbury home and I've managed to find a better image as can be seen here:

Might do some research on image resizing, see if there's any app's that might help or such.

If you're serious about printing it off to A3 you will want something at a real MINIMUM of around 2000 pixels on the long side, ideally around 4000 would be good. The only place you are remotely likely to find one that big is one one of the professional image library sites like alamony (not spelt right) and Reuters, but be warned, you WILL have to pay for it and it may be very expensive.

How big are you thinking of having the image ?, also how are you getting it printed ?, depending on how big you want it it will most probably end up have a rough grainy look to it so I'd advise you get it printed on canvas, it will help compliment that look more.

Why are/were people so in awe of her, she was average looking.

Really,

She really was quite a stunner, although personally when it comes to classic movie stars I'm a great fan of Lauren Bacal.

There was a shop selling a few poster sized photograhs of Marilyn Monroe next to my work a few months back but the £25,000 price tag put me off buying one. I'm not sure if you get the original negative when paying that much.

Because there was more to it than that. I don't really find her massively attractive but she's a) dead and b) before my time.

We're all used to looking at size 8 coked-up models nowadays so our perception of beauty has changed.

Its all about the context.

True. These days she'd probably only make it to being a plus size model for a cheapo catalogue or something!
