I seem to get lots and lots of BSOD'S for random reasons.

1. it doesn't bluescreen when the system is idle.

2. it only seems to bluescreen with the fault of Driver_Irql_Not_Less_Or_Equal (pointing to nvlddmkm.sys) when im playing a game like Crysis, BF 2142 or Runescape.

3. it only bluescreens with the fault of Page_Fault_In_Non_Paged_Area for random reasons when im playing Runescape and i don't know why.

I'm not very sure of how to use the event viewer so if you need me to use it or anything just ask and try to "guide" me through how to use it.

Thanks in advance.

I know what this is and there are pages all over the net about it. You have to run vista without aero on it... change the appearance to "windows standard" and it fixed it for me.

Page_Fault is normally associated with RAM problems so get a copy of Memtest86+ and check the RAM out.

The other fault is a drivers issue but could well be due to the above if RAM is found to be dodgy.

Check your ram is ok as above. Failing that post (or email me) a couple of the dumps from c:\windows\minidump at around the same time.

the bluescreen is caused by an nvidia driver error.

I'd reinstall your graphics drivers with new WHQL ones, and failing that, check your 8800's temps.

I have tested the ram and it said there were no problems. I have also taken each individual stick out and tested the pc with one at a time in each different slot.

i have installed the nvidia drivers for my 9600GT from the disk. Then went into safe mode and uninstalled them and then installed the latest ones from the NVIDIA website.

i had exactly the same problem a couple of months ago. Turned out i had my memory in the wrong slots. Moved them over and its been perfect ever since. Worth a try

In the wrong slots? So, like, in the PCI slots or something? :p

Welcome to the forums, btw :)
