When you look at the price now which i doubt is below cost, it really brings home how much of possible mark-up that is accumulated from production to retail on some items from launch.
I suspect that the OEMs will be allowing discounting by the retailers to clear old stock of the 280 to make way for the retailer then selling their new products.

Be dropped to make way for the 285 in 3 days, as that'll no doubt be coming in at what these were going for (£320+ or whatever it was), so they'll be wanting to get rid of their last stocks seen as they deed. :)

Couldn't they have just renamed the exiting 280 to 282 & kept the price just bellow that of the 285. :D

OK that was a cheap shot & should be ignored. :D

I suspect that the OEMs will be allowing discounting by the retailers to clear old stock of the 280 to make way for the retailer then selling their new products.

Will the OEMs be discounting below costs which can make sense to not be left with dead stock= total loss of money on stock?

Hm I may as well wait for the 285 or 295 as benchmarks seem to lead to my setup being near as fast as a 280 at my res :o

Use the money to buy a g24 or something :D

Price will go cheaper when the 285 arrive I presume

Good job i waited i am going to be waiting for a bit longer also.

If you want one at sensible pricing that may be a mistake.

I forgot to add that stock is obviously limited on these lines and will not last forever.

If anyone thinks the 285 pricing will be this low then please let me know what you have been taking, I could do with some of it! :D
