I'm sure I can lose the odd few hundred here and there if I come into possession of a few mil. Hell, might buy a toy shop and give it to that kid too.

although having said that I get 20fps with TF2 on medium settings

You lucky thing! my missus plays it on an nvidia 5200 (maybe a different 5 series, not quite sure). And before anyone calls me cruel for not getting her anything better I've offered many times, she's just attached to it.

But ive now since switched to the GTX280 as Ati's drivers have got worse with each release.

As its my birthday coming up at the end of the month I treated myself to the BFG 280. And although I am working tonight I have two days off tomorrow and Thursday to play!

Slightly (if at all) faster than the XFX Black Edition I'm RMAing, but at least it don't crash when under load (not yet anyway).
Got it at a relatively conservative 640/1150 and it's running Furmark stability test ok but BOY is it running hot - tops at about 93C after a few mins. Does this seem excessive? Reading around quite a few are running this card higher than this, so I take it these temps are ok.
