Protest march against Israeli terrorism

I've never really understood the point of protest marches. Ok I know people want a way to get their views across, but are they really going to think 'Oooh, there's people protesting in London, best put down the weapons and stop killing people then!'?

I'm probably going to get slated for saying that, but nevermind.

Israel have Mossad have you seen Munich I wouldn't protest too much, they will hunt you down.

Its good to see people still march and protest but it does very little, Gaza vs Israel will go on for ever unless one of them is wiped out.

...witnesses have told the UN that about 30 Palestinians died earlier this week as Israeli forces shelled a house in Gaza City into which Israeli soldiers had previously moved more than 100 people, half of them children...

Another act of depravity by the Israelis

i for one won't be marching in the Not in My Name brigade, to be honest i couldn't care what Israel does as far as i'm concerned they've acted in self defence, i'd get pretty pee'd off if someone was throwing bricks at my window a few times a day... Israel are saying enough is enough

atif as always as someone has mentioned on here already, it never seems to matter unless the individuals concerned in the deaths, are Muslims.

Also the Palestinians are claiming that there are 700 dead i never believe a word of the Palestinians especially since they alleged 300 were killed at Ramallah years ago and the actual count was 54 (including 10+ wanted terrorists)

Either way you anyone marching go ahead, your just wasting your time Israel has learned from past actions that inaction results in much worse further down the line.

how come they didnt kill all 100..you would have thought being trapped in a single building it would have killed them all by shelling it..how truthful are these witnesses?

I seem to remember a funeral last year where the guy fell of the stretcher...and climbed back in full view of the worlds media?

Missed page 2, will re-read...
How will the march help anything though, does it provide a solution which doesn't waste UK cash?

Out of interest, why don't people march and throw shoes about stuff that's happening in this country?

Wtf are 30 people doing in one house :/

And if there's 100+ in there, a less than 20m diameter circle how the hell did an artillery shell not get em all.

Isrealis should be getting a refund for that shell tbh its clearly substandard.

Even if you should nuke the Gaza strip and Israel so the radiation levels are death inducing until our sun burns itself out, then say "you want it, take it", they'll still fight over who can make it into the middle and claim it for their people.

A little over simplistic - there's so much more to it than that I've stated my experiences and from my knowledge in the multiple threads we've had on the subject, I'm afraid that I will never and cannot accept that Israel is in any way innocent or victimless, agreed that Hamas don't help themselves, but when a nation is being slowly choked to death the survival instinct kicks into play. And the nation of Palestine which is slowly being destroyed to extinction owing to Israel taking over more and more land and actually oppressing the Palestinians. Israel has a LOT to answer for, they are not and will never be the victims in this no matter what people say.

Well said, pretty much my thoughts on the matter too.

My thoughts too. Have people forgotten or don't know that Gaza was turned effectively into an open air prison which was attacked constantly by Israel before this sick offensive happened?

the Israeli's put them in there?

And still don't kill the other 70?

Seriously that shell must have been underpowered even for a fragmentation to not get everyone in the house through overpressure alone, let along heat + frag damage.

And how exactly is this march going to change anything? Remember as @if has said this is meant to be for discussing the march, not the situation in Gaza.

...if true.

I heard on Radio 4 this morning that the event allegedly took place one week ago. How many people take a week to report a massacre on this scale?

I would not be surprised if it is true, since the IDF are ruthless thugs. But since there has been no independent confirmation that it actually took place, and no evidence has been presented to support the claims made, I will suspend my belief for now.
