Traffic shaping, bad policies and using PHORM.

Sadly there is no better ISP since Enta went down hill.

All ISP's now seem to shape traffic, log your activities and sell them to the highest bidder etc etc.

Enta was the only company that i trusted.

Yes, Be-autiful is a good way to describe Be.

I signed up to Be on the afternoon of the 30th December 2008 and was online by the night of the 2nd January 2009 - stupidly good service.

And yes, that included despatch and delivery of my router and line activation... very happy.

O2 does not directly cover me here but I can get them on BT's network through their Access package which is much better than any of the other offerings. No traffic shaping, caps, or involvement with PHORM.

Got numbers to back that up?
They're at ~20% of exchanges enabled, which translates into ~17.5 million premises passed, but I can't find a value for total premises.

They would "cherry pick" the exchanges with the most users on I would think. Therefore (if it is true) 70% of the population/business premises are covered by 20% of the exchanges. I don't think that there is much of an incentive to roll out nationwide coverage for them if this is the case.

Not down hill yet, the increased cost of costs from BT and the economic downturn has put strain on their consumer broadband. Their policy for the future has not been published yet and until then it is unfair to say they are now rubbish, although not what they were last year.

I am really enjoying my Be connection though.

I'm using o2 and whilst usually receiving 6mb give or take (Sometimes 4 sometimes 8) it quite often either drops out although or like now, half a meg. I think it might be because it's coming down a BT line although considering it may be the route (Speedtouch)

Just signed up with o2 the other day. Been getting a steady 5mb but was hoping for a little more. Maybe it'll improve after initial testing :confused:
