GTA 4: Car Show

Although the Comet looks fast standing still, I don't feel it actually drives that well in the game. However, it looks great :-

Nice screenshots guys, really liking them but i dont want to have people ranting in this thread. It is a great game, epic infact, probably the best i have played in 2008. A good game needs a good system to run it, period.

And if your only to go do like one mission and then give up then your pretty inpatient and might have ADD.

Not sure what you mean by this statement. Are you implying that part of the criteria for a good game is that it requires a top-end PC to be playable at an acceptable level?

Or the game just doesn't grab them at all, and they'd rather play something else.

You can't play one mission and decide a game doesnt grab you to make a judgement...

And if youve just spent £25 on the game you have to be pretty wealthy too...

Edit: Yes forget that money point... I forgot that you could sell games :p

Depends. I've played some of the other GTA titles in the past, but the only aspect that interested me was messing about with the sandbox environment... so to speak. The missions themselves were frustrating, or just tedious for the most part.

As for the financial cost... well it's a new title, so you could sell it before it devalues noticeably. :p

No simply saying that most of the "complaints" that i have heard and read are basically due to lack of knowledge about their computer system. I dont by any stretch of the imagination think my computer is top end. However i know at the very least that you dont want to be running this game on a pentium 4 with onboard graphics...i admit i was taking it a bit far :o:(

na you've got it wrong, people complain when the game doesn't live up to the hype that was around it before it's release!

In response to twoodster's comments on lack of AA. At times the game can look quite bad... .especially at night but on a sunset, raining with an incar view it looks amazing. All the roads reflect the surroundings & driving at speed through the skyscapers it just cool.

Yeah it needs AA bad but i can only image anything above x4 will really hit the VRAM usage which is already an issue. (ran at 1920*1200 with everything on max has 1.5GB of VRAM...crazy)

GTA was never about visuals but more about vast open game play. Once you start playing the missions & get a flow going its really good stuff. I saw the PS3 version playing a few weeks back (house mate has it) & its ****** terrible compared with PC. Its really low res, blurry & bad framerate stutters ive never seen on the PS3 before. But people enjoy it just as much
