Was out tonight and driving and was approaching a small roundabout, checked my left and there was a car quite a distance away and on my right there was no car so I drove round the roundabout, as I drove round the roundabout I had another look on my right and I saw the car that was a distance away was suddenly really close to the roundabout and the car did not look like it will stop for the roundabout so I quickly sounded my horn and before I knew it his car has hit mine and I hit the curb and trashed my car. Got out of my car and the guy saw me get out and drove straight away. I couldn't get any details as it happened so quick but caught a glimpse and I think its a Toyota and is one of those London pre-booked mini cabs. Car is a writeoff, hit my back door, bent my back wheels axle and burst my front tyre. To top it off, my car is insured on TPFT. :( Anything I can do? Feeling really helpless.

Your post is confusing, you mention a car on your LEFT at a distance but later you say you checked again on the RIGHT and the same car is really close? Which is it left or right.

Typical taxi driver.

A mate was in a car that got hit by a taxi a while back. While he's on the phone to the cops giving the reg details etc a couple of other taxi's pull up and the drivers are demanding the front bumper, complete with reg plate, he left behind. Fortunately my mates a big bloke and they backed off or he'd have lost out big time.

Hope you get sorted, make sure you inform the cops pronto.

Does it really matter left or right? It's obvious he's talking about the same car that he saw before, and he's probably quite shaken at the mo.

Sorry still shaking and only just got back home (had to get the car towed, talk to the police, etc.) The car was on my left at a distance and when I checked to the left again he was really close to me and hit me.

Cops basically said they can't do much with only part of the registration plate (S reg) and all they can do is check the cctv at the traffic lights near there. The direction he went off has a set of traffic lights which I THINK has a cctv so hopefully it will catch him. Car is written off and need to get back to Uni tomorrow.

of course police can can do something! in this country there's no way he would be able to get the car to a destination we out being spotted on a camera!

what race was the idiot who crashed into you?

why does the race matter?

why 'of course the police can do something'?

I'm not sure what race the driver was to be honest because even after the accident he didn't bother to get out of his car, as soon as I got out my car he reversed a bit and drove off, I did try to give chase to get closer to see the reg plate but all I got was what seemed like a S reg. Will post pics as soon as I get them uploaded.

curiosity.....

and read past "something....." and you'll see what i said after! if police tryed hard enough it would be easy to find.all they would have to do check with local taxi ranks for toyota's, see what taxi's was on that route at that time! may take a day or 2 to check it all out but thats what there gettin payed for....

lol at reactions! to be honest tho most of the taxi's who decide they own the road do tend to be immigrants! been in country 2 weeks and already taxi'ín about we 1 of there family members ID cards.... prob reason why the taxi did one on this poor fella!

not being ignorant nore arrogant , its true....

who says the driver was local?
or that it would definitely have been seen on CCTV and been noticed enough to get a good picture of it?
