Hi

I parked on a single yellow line at 5:50pm ad I thought that with only 10 minuted to go until the parking restrictionw as lifted I would be ok.

I got a parking ticket and it says the observation time is 5:50pm-6pm and the issue time of the ticket is 6:01.

Do you think I can appeal since the ticket was issues at 6:01pm and you can park on the single yellow at 6pm?

There are reasons why yellow lines are painted besides kerbs, if you want to take the chance and park on them then you should be prepared to pay for the ticket if you get caught. It's never ok.

Try the forums at pepipoo.com. I'm sure someone there will be able to give you an accurate answer before you get in touch with them.

Your observation time was between the prohibited time period. It doesn't matter when the ticket was written, the ticket was written for the offence of parking there between 17:50 and 18:00

Exactly, case closed - you broke the rules, deal with it!

You could request the photographic evidence/view moving image (if caught by CCTV) in the hope it shows a time after 6pm.

Hope that their is CCTV that shows he was commiting the offence and the warden then issued the correct ticket? Ideal.

No.

Hope the evidence shows a time after 6pm after which according the OP parking is allowed.

Of course the ticket is valid.
Just because the ticket was issued at a time after it was legal to park doesn't matter.
The ticket was for an offence you committed prior to the ticket issue time.

Seriously - just pay up.
The "appeal" system for parking tickets is there for legitimate claims.
Your claim would be so far from the "legitimate" end of the scale it hurts.

Parking after 6 is fine, it's the ten minutes before 6 that he wasn't allowed to park that is the problem.

I know the ticket was issued for those ten minutes. What part of my original reply are you debating?

I merely suggested requesting the evidence. If the OP was lucky the photo might have shown a time after 6 and then there would be no evidence to support the ticket- grounds for an appeal.

I'm confused. What does it matter if the cctv shows a time after 6? The offence was the 10 minutes beforehand.

Think you've got the wrong end of the stick, if anything there would be even more proof that he had commited the offence. Video footage of the car being parked there for the ten minutes is somewhat compelling evidence that the offence happened.
