Insurance for new drivers, stupidly cheap.

That's not gonna be legal chap. I can tell you that straight off, technically it's fraud as you're not telling the truth.

Think of it like this: You pile the car.. they look at what you have declared. They look for the part, hm it's not there, so surley they're gonna check back on the quote and they're going to discover that you've declared a part that's not there ;)

What are braided brake hoses?

*edit*

Found some.

Tbh if this bug is still working when i get my car, i'll be buying some braided brake hoses, fitting them and getting some cheap insurance :)

What are braided brake hoses?

They are brake lines which do not bulge as much as standard brake lines when you press the brake pedal which puts more of the force you are applying to the pedal to the brake caliper.

I've had them on a couple of cars, they improve brake feel quite a lot.

Any idea how much they cost to get fitted, or is it a DIY job

Depends how comfortable you would be bleeding your brakes. They are simple enough to fit.

Hard to say how much a garage would charge, it shouldnt take more than 1-1.5 hours all told.

Why not just fit them? They're hardly expensive.

Ah i see.

Well i'll be getting a car asap after 10th Feb payday, so if this glitch is still working... it would be legal for me to get braided brake hoses and take advantage of this "glitch" , yes?

I couldnt possibly comment on this glitch. There are no legal/insurance issues WRT installing braided hoses though, its a common mod.

And they would be well within their rights to cancel the policy and refund you within 14 days if its an error too.

I do not know the in's and out's of insurance policies but are you sure 14 days is not just a consumer right?

Dell sold and honored a silly amount of desktops on the cheap because they had accepted payment before finding out addons subtract rather than increase the price :p

Not sure but it's why most companies don't take money until everything has been checked. Play.com recently had the James Bond DVD Boxset up for something stupid like £9.99 instead of £99.99 and loads of people ordered but no money is taken until the item is physically sent usually and thus they were able to cancel the orders.

No idea if this is the same for insurance though, also unless you work for the insurance company in question how do we know 100% this is a glitch, they could very seriously feel this mod removes a massive chance of a crash.

No its not. If you make a claim and the insurance company find you have not provided them inaccurate information, they can disown you. It happens a lot.

In this case they could be telling the complete truth if their car has braided brake lines, but I suspect once this is found the insurance companies will be writing to customers to refund them and cancel cover.

Well given I am on the eCar site and cant actually see "braided brake lines" as a specific modification, I'd say no. Compare the Market keeps crashing.h

All eCar lists is "uprated brakes"

This comes up a lot and is mostly BS

They can only void/avoid a policy once they find out so say I crash at 2pm and they find out something at 2:30pm they still have to pay out.

There was a post the other day regarding someone leaving their keys in the ignition and the car got stolen and someone wrote that their Ins would now be void. well I tried it today and left my keys in the ignition and walked away from my car but my ins is still inforce.

Please prove me wrong by showing me Where in the policy it states that the ins can void/avoid my policy for those reasons. like the old you have no insurance if ya tax runs out or your mot has expired.

Old wives tales
