A man has been arrested in Brookhaven, Mississippi in the United States after making threats to assassinate president-elect Barack Obama on his January 20 inauguration, the US Department of Justice says.

Steven Joseph Christopher, who is from Wisconsin, was arrested by the US Secret Service, with the assistance of local law enforcement.

Threatening to kill the US president-elect is an offense that carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $US250,000 fine.

"I have decided I will assassinate Barack Obama. It's really nothing personal about the man ... But I know it's for the country's own good that I do this," Christopher wrote in a posting on the website www.alien-earth.org on January 11, according to the affidavit filed by the Secret Service.

"It's not because I'm racist that I will kill Barack, it's because I can no longer allow the Jewish parasites to bully their way into making the American people submit to their evil ways."

He pointed to Jewish appointees for Mr Obama's future administration and accused Jews of contriving the September 11, 2001 attacks.

I've set Sky+ to record the inauguration, partly as I'll be working and partly in case some loon does manage to off him live on TV.

I hope nobody does though, Obama has to be better than Bush.

I'm more peturbed by the apparant lack of planning that went into it, "I'll just post this and someone will hand me bus fare, a gun and a nice security man will give me a clean shot because it's the first time I've fired a gun, oh and I'm not racist either". There's barely anything that needs said at this point, he hardly seems a credible threat.

Everyone knew a black democratic leader would lead to a lot of inbred hicks plotting half arsed assasination attempts.
I personally think it's the best thing that ever happened to america, obama, maybe the rest of the world can start to like america again, as soon as all of bushes disgusting actions are put right anyway.

Also, the site is probably monitored because it's full of hicks, or google is a powerful tool.
